Penny Black Sat.Challenge wk111

This week's theme is "Christmas in July". I CROPPED this cat wearing a santa's hat image from the stamp of 3 cats. I stamped Music randomly to make a background paper, to match the christmas song on the bottom. I FRAMED, using redtapes to adhere the red glitter. ... this is my FIRST christmas card to make this year, and i wasn't really up to it... i just don't wanna think of christmas right now, while ENJOYING beautiful hot summer days!! ... but it seems all challenge call for "Christmas in July" this month... I luv making "beach" card all year long! LOL :-)

PB old card, from 2004, too!

Since i was looking for the cards in my previous posts, i went through the old cards, and i found this. We were talking about "cropping" yesterday in one of the yahoo club i belong to, and i decided to upload this OLd card again! this PB stamp is actually for Winter scene (it's a snowball fight!) but me living in a tropical island back then, of course, i had to make the scene to the beach, with sandballs fight! :-) yes, my life had been "life is a beach!" LOL

Being Published back in 2004! Old cards! :-)

today, one of my yahoo club friend asked whether anybody has ever been published in the magazines. I had 3 cards in total, being published, but oh boy, those cards are rather simple compared with the cards in recent years! For the card with ship, i even got a phone call for the interview, like where i live, how long i've been stamping, where i get the inspiration from, etc. There was the interview details in the magazine beside the card. For the second card with fish ("under the sea" theme), i got the e-mail of "interview" (Q&A), and also some introduction about me, but shorter, and the 3rd card with the cat was published just in the READER's submissions page, without any comments, only my name. (NOT the shaker card one). Back then, lots of TECHNIQUES were introduced, and for the first card & the 3rd cards, i used Posh impressions' rainbow sponging. For the 2nd card, i used polished stone technique. I was living in Guam (US territory), the tropical island, tourist destination & the land of US Navy, all three cards were made from the inspiration, just me living there. no, cats don't fly there!! LOL but in rainy season, we get squalls every day, and we can see rainbows so often!! The colors of the ocean sometimes becomes the one with the polished stone technique. Water is clear & beautiful colored fish are all around! And the ship... not only Cruise ship sometimes stop by there but BIG NAVY ships stop by also. Anyways, i was inspired by the nature & life all around me, living in Guam :-), and that's how i answered to those interviews :-) They were all published in Scrap & Stamp Art Magazines by Scott Publications. I was getting excited but then the life took a turn to bad... and i had to stop stamping...

HM RAK to my online club friend

This stamp is so summery, and for a change, it's a happy hopper! This is my first card, using this image, and i luv the way my card turned out. I like the way i ended up doing with the sentiment. That's an open space, and i knew i would put the sentiment but i didn't want it to be just so simple. I was looking at the Polkadots of the kite, and remembered circle punch. I punched a couple from the scrap paper of those two colors i used for this card. I moved around to see what's the best way to put, and this is what i came up with. I'm glad that the recipient liked it :-)

PB swap card to my Online Club friend

I've been wanting to use this image, since this spring! I found a bit distress polkadots lime green paper recently, and since i had similar color gems, flower, & ribbon, i decided to make THIS card. I've been recently enjoying doing some "mosaic" on the back ground layered papers. I distressed a bit around the edge of the main image too.

Simon Says... Martine's Sketch Challenge

I think this kind of sketch makes a nice "thank you, Just a note & hello" card. I used Icicle stickle in the centers of flowers. I luv Purple Flowers, all kinds :-)

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #148

I just had fun making this card! For the tea cup & tea pot, i did Paper Piecing! I think these came out cute! :-) And the strawberry icing on chocolate doughnuts! Yum! I had only ONE doughnut stamp so i did masking, making into two doughnuts. Looks MORE yummy! lol! All stamped images are heat embossed, and put 3D glue dots to give some dimentions. ... i forgot that i can make more than one loop ribbon, using my new bow-easy! , so i made 3 loops! LOL! This card ended up looking more whimsical than my ordinary cards. oh, i HANDDREW the team from the tea cup! Very Fun Sketch!

Clean & Simple #99 Challenge

I bought this Really Nice/realistic Cockatoo stamp at the stamp show, and have been wanting to use it! :-) And i had this woodgrain ribbon in stock, to match the branch :-) I used 3.5 x 6" as this sketch's original size. It's kinda nice to make a card other than 4.25 x 5.5" regular size, for a change :-)

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC38

I always luv the colors the play date cafe challenge ask for. Of course, it doesn't mean that i come up with a great idea, using those colors, every week. Sometimes, it frustrates me cuz i can't come up with the design, even i think those color combination are Beautiful! Anyways, here is my card. I luv Purple flowers, all kinds :-)

HM Anniversary card to my HM club online friend

When we know each other for a long time, in the same club, it's a bit difficult to come up with the idea to suprise the recipient, esp. now i don't have many HM stamps here with me. Anyways, i made this card, using a half of one of HM stamp. Background's small heart is from Victorine Originals (i stamped it many times), and the "champagne glasses" is from Penny black. Both are rather old stamps, but i've been using that champagne glasses A LOT! I just luv that design!! I also used glossy accents inside of the glasses. And of course, i stamped Happy Anniversary, inside of the card.

"Let's Get Fruity!"...Simon says..

This weeks' challenge is "fruits". I stamped the small apple stamp (CTMH) in red & brown (stem) many times to make a background paper. I used crystal lacquer for the seeds. ...so... WHAT'S UP??!! :-)

Happy 4th of July!!

For today's celebration, i made the same cake i made last year, and again, it was a big hit! Here is the pic., and the recipe from Kraft. If you love berries, like i do, you'll love this cake, and for this celebration, it looks good too. Underneath of the white whipped cream, it's the strawberry flavored jello, folding sliced strawberries and blueberries. On the bottom of the cake, it's a layer of pound cake. It's very yummy! You can find that recipe @ www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/wave-your-flag-cake-50205.aspx

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #65 Stars and Stripes

well, i thought i made enough 4th of July cards this year but nah! This challenge calls for Stars & Stripes! I even thought i would make a card with Stars & Stripes with NO red, white & blue colors but i couldn't.... lol... yea, 4th of july is too close to think other colors for Stars & Stripes here, in US! LOL!
I do buy Pretty Papers once in a while cuz they are very pretty to look at, but hardly ever use them. But this Paper with 4th of July theme really got me into making a card with it! Since the paper has a distress look, i tried to match, and made the whole card, looked distressed. Maybe they can RUN another Stars & Stripes challenge, 6 months from now, and i might use other colors! ;-)

PB Saturday Challenge wk107

This week's challenge is Paper Patch. I luv sewing, as well as stamping. Unfortunately i don't have a sewing mashine here, so, i have HAND drawn! lol The PB stamp i used is called "Patchwork Bunny", so perfect! :-) I used Pop dots for a bigger wheel & the bunny, to give a bit of dimention, and used fun flock on it's cotton tail :-)
