"Tea" swap

January is a National Tea Month, and my house mouse online buddy wanted to do "tea" swap, and this is the card I made, and I liked this week's sketch at Mojo Monday, I decided to use this sketch. All stamps are from Lawn Fawn set. I stamped the steam & tea leaf randomly on the pink card stock. I used Impressability to emboss light purple background card stock, for the top half. Tea pot, tea cup steam from the tea cup & hearts are all heat embossed.

Today, Ravens won, and I'm happy :-) Except 49er's, I like all other 3 teams who's won this weekend, for Super Bowl :-) I don't dislike 49er's either. So, I'm good to go, for Super Bowl! LOL :-) Hope everybody is having a long great weekend. :-) Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today :-)

House Mouse Swap Cards

I belong to House Mouse Yahoo group, and we have monthly swap. Last month, it was Anything Goes & this month, "GUAM swap!" LOL! I know, probably nobody nor no group ever had this theme before. LOL! I was back in Guam from last October, and although I have tons of Stamping supplies there, they are all 8~10 years old things, BEFORE the stamping industry came up with so many fancy things (til this day!), and I missed the CURRENT trend, esp. Cuttlebug which I couldn't bring. Anyways, Guam Swap is to make a card using the things which was available about 8 years ago, which means, no cuttlebug, no fancy dp, etc. This is the card I made for my partner. ONLY thing I missed is that THIS House Mouse stamp is rather new, not available about 8 years ago.. LOL! Some Mousie friend mentioned, and I realized after finishing making it! LOL! The card is rather self explanatory. I STAMPED all over on the background paper. Back then, there weren't many fancy DP available, and we MADE our own, stamping lots on the paper. I stamped the two mice on the front and a coffee cup on another paper & card stock and layered them to give them more dimention. Jute cord was there to show the tie for the coffee bag you usualy see in real life, to close the bag. :-) oh back then, there were no Distress ink, and I SPONGED the dye ink around the image :-) The 2nd card is last months' swap card; anything goes. I made this card, with bright colors & rather summery image, cuz I HATE winter... I LUV SUNSHINE, Blue Sky & WARM temp. :-) I stamped another mouse & some of the flower petals, layered them with dimentional foam to give the depth to the image. I cut a little where the oar goes into the water, to give the smooth look from the height, into the water. and I colored the white edge of the slit with the perfect pearls I used for the water, for more natural look. Yes, we had Perfect pearls, and I luved using them a lot back then :-)

Many of you know that I'm a BIG college football fan. Of course, I LUV my school. Unfortunately 83% people thought that Clemson would beat us but we, the mountaineers CRUSHED them last night; 70-33!! The BOWL GAME'S RECORD POINTS! This game was my dream came true because I also took a summer course at Clemson! I was looking forward to this game since they started to talk about the chance of these 2 schools going to Orange bowl, after we beat USF, the last game of the season. I bought this t-shirt (on the picture), and wore it with WVU earrings for the game! :-) Clemson got 1st TD, and I thought, uh-oh... but it turned out to be AN AMAZING GAME!! Again, the final score is 70-33!! Great job, guys! :-)

2012 has started! :-)
This is the new year's card I made for my mother who lives in Tokyo. It's their custom to send new year's card, rather than Christmas cards in US. And it's not really a card which they send, but rather, a POSTCARD. The sentiment says "happy new year" in Japanese. All stamps are from Posh impressions, except Tilda. Since it's a postcard, I couldn't put too much dimentions & embellishments other than glitter glue & tiny pearls using pearl pen.

Finally I got some "MY TIME". I'd been so busy and hadn't checked blogger for 10 days? and hadn't posted it any on my blog for almost 3 weeks! Hanukkah, Christmas, "thanksgiving in december party", all in 10 days with lots of baking & cooking, and "moving" (again!) made me really busy. Hope you all had a wonderful Hanukkah, Christmas & looking forward to the new year, 2012!

Today is my birthday, and I'm uploading the birthday cards I made for others this month. LOL! Unfortunately I hadn't had enough time to finish & mail them, but when new week starts, I'll go to the post office to mail them. They are for my House Mouse online buddies. The first one ~ Confetti were colored with Perfect pearls, using water. Three little confetti & the mouse were layered with pop up glut dots for more dimention, as well as punched out balloons on the right. The strawberry cake stamp is from PSX. I used Glaze pen over strawberries, clear star pen over the lace on the cake stand, yellow stickles for candle lights. I've drawn "stitch line" around the image. The second one ~ I think most are self explanatory. I used Glossy accents on keyboards, three jumping mice were layered with pop up glue dots for more dimention. I used this colors (black & red) because I'm sending a snoopy rubber stamp, in red sports car, which I also have in Guam (the car, I mean! lol!), with black leather inside, which is my "love" in Guam! lol :-) The recipient luvs Snoopy stamps as well as I do (I believe!), so I bought the stamp which would match with this card colors :-)

This is the theme at One Stop Craft Challenge this week. Although I used Distress inks, they are Red & Green, the traditional christmas colors :-) Small trees were punched out from textured (embossed) card stock. Twines and background DP were too white so I distressed them using TH distress ink, directly to them. I used Viva Decor Pearl pens for Cream & Gold pearls on branches, and used "distressed" red glitter for red dots on branches. I used the nestabilities for sentiment, which I CUT & mailed it here. I don't have a nestabilities with me, and had to color the edges, as the way it is shown there, different from coloring using the nestability dies, stil attached to the die cut outs. I found this image from my stash from years ago, and wanted to color it as soon as I found it, and this will go to my house mouse online buddy in NM :-)

~ Blue Christmas ~

That's the theme at Delightful Challenge, and this is the card I made for my best friend & Godmother this year. Well, right now, I'm in Guam, USA, "where America's day begins", so it's like on this card here, at the moment, Santa is coming from the sea, with dolphins! ;-), with lots of sunshine, blue sky, blue ocean, seashells... all stamps are from Guam's original stamp company. On the small ornaments on the right bottom corner, you can see Palm trees on one and "latte Stones" on another one. "Latte Stones" are found on Guam and neighboring islands, and nobody really knows why they are here... You can't really see it from the picture, but the main image is more shiney, from me using sakura clear star pen to give more shimmers on the sun & waves. I put fun flock for santa's clothe too :-) Both are going to VA where they expect Snow flurries on Christmas day, I'm mailing this card, with lots of sunshine & WARM feeling! :-)

ok, lots of places have started to see the White Stuff which I don't like. lol... but I wanted to share this card with you today, the one I made for our "Thank you" swap for my House Mouse group I belong. It was the swap of November, and it went out on 30th, the last day of due date :) The recipient will be receiving it, very soon. I couldn't take a good picture. I haven't figured out how to take a good picture at the place where I am now, yet... with lighting and all.. so I have a bit more to explain about things the camera didn't pick up.... the leaves on the main image, I used the glitter pen to draw the veins of most of the leaves. Two falling leaves & mice were cut from the 2nd stamped image, and were adhered with foam tape to give a bit of dimention. I used distress inks for trees, before attaching them on the card. I also used the weavy textured paper to punch out the dark brown trees. I don't have a cuttlebug where I am at now... I chose this image for this swap because I wanted to say, "for being a friend" inside :-) The mice got a ride from this doggy, because they are friends :-) I also distressed the fall leaves DP because the white parts of the paper was "too" white. Hope the recipient of this card will be pleased with my card :-)

"Snow Much Fun!"

ok, I never think so but the challenge calls for that, and I love to watch Ice Hockey games, so here is my take on the challenge at Creative Inspirations. I made this card to my House Mouse Online buddy who also loves to watch sports, incld. NHL, like me! :) That's the only time I WOULD go to the COLDER place, EAGERLY! lol!
Three mice on the front and a puck were cut from the 2nd stamped image, layered them for more dimention. Yes, those "wooden" hockey sticks were even thinner than the tails of mice, and I almost cut them off! lol! I used yellow stickles for the fire. I distressed the edges of the main panel. Since I wanted this to be a Christmas card to her, I added the tree, being decorated with stars and tinsels (I wrapped the tree with tinsel), used foam tape for more dimention.

yes, it is :-) The other day, I went to Home Depot (in Guam). People were loading Fresh Christmas Trees up to their SUVs, like this card! :-) Except there is no snow here on the Tropical Island :-) Anyways, I made this card to my old time online friend whom I recently reconnected once again. She loves cats, like I do, and I had this stamp for ages but never inked it before! ha! yes, I was ONCE a COLLECTOR, like many stampers from old time were (or still are! lol!). I'm also submitting this card to the challenge at the Paper Variety where they are having the theme of "Christmas lyrics" :-) yes, I'm singing, like these peanuts! lol :-)Lots of Old stamps have black images on the back of the stamps, not colored, and in a way, it's good because you can color anyways you want, and I chose RED for this car, because I have a RED car which I love, and missed a lot! :-) I distressed the edge of the main image panel. Then I used Sakura Souffle pen/white to make snow, lots of snow, ... like Snow Storm! lol :-) Although the picture doesn't show, the layering blue paper underneath has simmer in it. I distressed a bit of plain but DP, with Snowflake stamping in the same distress ink. For the sentiment, I first stamped music notes in versa mark, but it doesn't show much, esp. in the photo but it's there! :-) I wrote a Christmas lyrics on it, and used Sakura Souffle pen again, to make MORE snow! :) Yes, this card has lots of snow on it, because although the recipient of this card lives in NV, she loves SNOW! (I can't believe that fact! lol!) So I'm sending her lots of snow on this card! :-) On mom cat's coat (cuffs), baby cat's hat, and big brother cat's hat have flock on them, to show the fuzz! :-) I also used silver mica powder to paint (mixing with water) for the rims of the tires, but it doesn't show on the picture much either. ..

Finally, A Card!!

Actually I've been making cards lately, although the last post of my card is over 2 months ago... it's hard to make cards in different location, with lack of stamping supplies. Also I can't find the place to take good pictures... anyways, when I saw this image, one of my "house mouse online buddy" came to my mind. ok, she is a quilter and this is not a Quilting image, and I know House Mouse Does have a quilting image but this image is the closest image I got; quilt~cozy & warm inside~this image! lol :-) I layered the cuff of the hat & three mice but cut the images separately so some of the mice's ears could go over the raised cuff of the hat. I used the flock on the top of the hat, for "fuzzy" feeling :-) To make it more like a Christmas card to my friend, I added the christmas tree brad on the left corner, and plastic Glittery Poinsetta button on the right, although the glitter doesn't show that much on the picture. I used DP to punch out the mittens, and adhered with dimentional glue dots. "Mittens" give "fuzzy & warm" feelings. :-) Since House Mouse & Friends' Monday is having the challenge of "Fuzzy & Warm", I'm submitting this. I used this sentiment, feeling "peace" from these mice's sleeping faces...

It's been more than 6 weeks I hadn't post anything on my blog. Some of you may know that my life got really busy with unexpected turns. I've found some time to stamp meanwhile but I'm in a different location now, and not only I don't have full tools & stamps, but also, I haven't found the right location for taking good pictures (with lighting and all). And today, I wanted to post Something else other than the card because I was very happy yesterday! Many of you know that I luv to watch Football, mostly, COLLEGE!, esp. My College!! I kind of lost any interest in Pros' after Dan Marino retired from Miami dolphins, and ever since, I watch NFL, with the teams I luv my fav. Players are playing for, just because I luv to watch their Awesome Plays! There are more I can talk about NFL, but today's post isn't about Football but rather the BEST of NHL players, coming back to the game, after 10 months of absence from suffering the Concussion! Sidney Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins' Captain suffered the concussion, and was absent from the game til yesterday, Nov.21, 2011. (against Islander's game). He came back last night, and played HAPPILY, and GREAT as he used to play!! I didn't have the access to the full game but watched the highlights, interviews, and other video clips from this game, and he looked so happy, as We All Penguins' Fans were!! I always feel so sorry who suffers from any kind of injuries from any kind of games. But this one hit hard, because not only Penguins is MY TEAM but also he is the best of best (active) NHL players, and yesterday's comeback drew the attention, not only nationally but internationally also. Yes, he is the best of best Ice Hockey players, and the World knows about him! So, I just wanted to post this, because I was very happy too. He scored 2 goals, had 2 assists and we won 5-0 over NY Islanders! :-)
I never cared for NHL til 3 years ago, when "someone" (wink wink!! ;-) ) took me to the game in Pittsburgh. And that year, Penguins won Stanley Cup (like winning Super Bowl for NFL, in case you aren't familiar with Ice Hockey). I was there in Pittsburgh, when they had a Victory parade in downtown. After that year, Winter Olympics took place, and watched Ice Hockey. I wanted US to win but Canada took the Gold medal, and Sidney Crosby was the best player there, too, from Canada. Then, earlier this year, Winter classics also took place in Pittsburgh, where Sidney Crosby got first hard hit which also caused his concussion and had to leave the rest of the season & this season til yesterday.

at Lawn Fawn blog. The challenge is to make a Thank You Card, and send it to someone, so I made this card, and will mail it to my best friend from College. The sentiment stamp is from Lawn Fawn, of course (:-)) and tiny maple leaf is from their new halloween set. I luv this little stamp! It's so small but it became in handy, and I know I'll be using it often! :-) The sentiment is attached with pop up glue dots for a bit of dimention. I distressed the edges of the front panel and inside of the scalloped heart, with the mix of those distress inks I used for maple leaves. Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today! at Hero Arts' blog. I luv this Hero arts stamps (sentiment also!). I used viva deco arts red pearl pen for beries, and misted gold smooch sprits over it. I adhered the sentiment with pop up glue dots to give a bit of dimention. Now I have another Christmas card done! :-) If I keep making cards for Christmas challenges on the blogs, I might be able to finish most of the cards before December! Accordion Birthday card

I made this accordion card for the list mom of the birthday swap I belong. This swap took the sign up in December, and the swap started on Jan. 1, so, my birthday being on 12.31, I'm the last one of the list, the last one to receive, from all the members on this list, the end of the year. But when I signed up, she sent me the birthday card right away, in December. How nice of her! I even received a couple of cards from the members on the list too! So, not to mention she keeps this list, sending the reminder for next month's birthday every month, I thought I would make a card, not a regular 2 folded card, but looks like a little present instead :-) And this is what I made. I got the instruction here. The first picture shows you the inside of this little booklet. All stamps are from Fiskars. I luv wine, esp. RED wine, and that's the reason I bought this set :-) I colored with color pencils, inkpads (using the brush & a bit of water), used copics for shades, and Glossy accent on the wine bottle & glasses. I used Swirl punch on dp around the Grape, to match with the vine. I cut thin pieces from the same dp to make a design on the last page. I also used many tiny pearls on the front and the last page inside. I layered two die cuts using pop up glue dots on each layer, and ribboned through the bottom layer. I really like how it turned out. The base is rather easy to make but it took a while to make a design, to make a book which has a "Story", from the beginning to the end. I'm mailing this tomorrow to our list mom. I'm also submitting this to some challenges.

"Pop it Up" !

I made this card for "Pop up card" swap in the yahoo group I belong to. I also saw this challenge at the Pixie Cottage. At Cute Card Thursday, they are also running "Animal Crackers" challenge. I'd been wanting to use this Stove stamp for a very very long time. I mean, I think I bought this stamp like 8 years ago, but never inked it before! lol!! Anyways, I found "chef Amanda" from House Mouse this summer. I knew I would be making a card with these stamps soon :-) Finally the right time came, and I made this card! :-) The Pop Up parts are Chef Amanda & the image of flour sack. You can see where I used the "stages" in my 2nd picture. The flour stamp is also an OLD CTMH stamp! ...like old as the stove stamp! LOL! The little cupcake in the middle is the center of sentiment stamp I found at Michaels ($1!). I stamped, colored and cut another mouse on the right. I colored the mouse image with a truffle, cut it from a larger stamp with 3 mice but I used only this mouse. I used color pencils, copics, paper piecing, perfect pearls, glaze pen... it is more shimmery in certain parts of this 'kitchen scene', in person. The sentiment stamp is from All Night Media . I used another dollar stamp for the front. I paperpieced the cupcakes and watercolored the cupcake stand. I found the pink CS with white dots heat embossed from my scraps. I used scallop circle nestabilities on this scrap. I used two dp from DCWV, cut them in triangle. Those yummy looking round embellishments are from my winning prize of Bingo game, from Peggie :-) It took a while to make this card but I enjoyed making it! :-)

Well, I made this card for Back to School theme Swap, being held at the yahoo group I belong to, and since no more back to school theme challenge, I decided to upload this card for Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Challenge and Catch The Bug Challenge. I used school themed DP, colored the mouse & books, cut it, adhered with pop up glue dots. This is my LAST back to school theme card this year. I think I made enough of this themed cards this year! lol!

Lawnscaping Blog Hop!! 9.9~9.11.2011

Welcome to the first ever Lawnscaping Blog Hop! So glad you are here! You should have come to me by way of Cathy Fongjoyo. This month's theme is magical Holiday projects! The hop runs from Friday, September 9th ~ Sunday, September 11th! Make sure to comment on all of the blogs because there are LOTS of prizes to be won! All the details can be found on the Lawnscaping home page.
Here are my cards. I made 4 Christmas cards & 1 Hanukkah card! :-)First Card ~ I used Ornaments and stars from new Ornate Ornaments set. I inked only the outlines of the ornaments so that I could stamp penguins & polar bear from Critters in the Snow set inside of the ornaments. I also stamped the ornaments & snowflakes on transparency, heat embossed them, and layered them over the images on the white cs, to give a GLASS look :-) I used glitters for the snow on the ground for penguins ornaments.

Second Card ~ I paperpieced all the ornaments, and heat embossed them. I used tiny gems to make more festive on ornaments! :-) All the ornaments & the sentiment were adhered with pop up glue dots to give more dimention, as well as the first card.

Third & Fourth Cards ~ I couldn't decide which colors I would like, and I made them both! lol :-) The ornament, Ribbon & the hanger are separate stamps. I luv this stamp set. There are even 3 different styles of hangers. You can make any way you like :-) I heat embossed the ornaments & the sentiment. This time, I used the sentiment, stamped the first half on top, and the second half on the bottom. "Merry Christmas" is a long one line sentiment stamp. For both cards, I used Nestabilities to cut the center of the front panel. I attached the focal image on the inside panel. For the white pearl center card, I used Viva decor Pearl pen to put pearls on swirls.

For the Hanukkah card ~ I used the white glossy paper, heat embossed with silver embossing powder (used brilliance ink for the stars, without heat embossing), used 2 distress inks, to get the main panel color. I used Ribbon tag nestabilities for the sentiment, used the same distress inks, adhered with dimentional glue dots. I used glitter for the flames.

the Shaped Sketch Challenge at Moxi Fab!

When I saw this sketch, immetiately I thought about this Seashell Duest Stamp from Posh Impressions. So I stamped them (duet~solid stamp & outline stamp), and thought around this main image. I heatembossed the outline. I used the printed paper of "water surface", stamped the bubbles in white, and then heat embossed them. I used light blue cs, stamped fish, have drawn the all lines with sakura clear glaze pen to give more distinguished images. I have handdrawn the wave line, using sakura clear star gel pen. It's more subtle look than using the silver color. I used Viva decor Pearl pen for the pearls on the seashell and around the circle. The second picture shows you more where they are heat embossed, where I used clear star gel pen & clear glaze pen, with the flash of the camera I used. Moxi fab is running other sketches. Sketches are one of my fav. challenge! :-) Hope I can find time to make more cards for other sketches before the deadline.

the Wall Quilt from Debbie Mumm!!:-)

Today, I've received a package from Debbie Mumm, the famous artist whose line of fabrics are wellknown around the world! What a Cheerful Beautiful quilt!! Amazing!! I've been her fan since early 90s', cuz I make cloth dolls, and her fabrics are just right for my "country" dolls. I also like patchwork, using her fabrics to make things, incld. small coasters. For last 20 years, I've collected her mug cups, plates, tea pots, tin cans, rubber stamps, buttons, etc., etc., and I even cross stiched 2 wall hangings of her design! I've sewn her christmas tree skirt, using her panel fabric. I have her notebooks, used her calendar, pocket planner, wallpaper on my computer, bought her art clip CD ... the list goes on. Now you all know that I've been a BIG fan! What I love about her designs are that they give me Warm Cozy feeling inside, even I lived in tropical islands where it never gets cold. lol :-) Anyways, so, because me being her big fan, she is on my facebook (meaning, I "like" her and I get her posts time to time). She used to have a blog, but she closed it, and later, she opened her facebook. I was very happy to see her there again. About 6 weeks ago, I saw her post, asking us to participate the survey, so I did. I usually take survey of the companies I like, hoping that would help the companies. I don't recall that she/her company mentioned about Giveaway for the participant of this survey, which was even short in my opinion, and her having over 2,000 fans on her facebook, I totally forgot about I even took that survey. Two days ago, I read her post saying that her staff was looking for ME, cuz I WON her signed wall quilt from taking that survey!!! I posted on her post that it was ME! Anyways, we had a couple of postings and I received an e-mail from the customer service rep. of her company that he was mailing it next day, and I received it today (9/2) from the westcoast (WA)!! I was amazed how quick they processed it, and how quick it was delivered, and inside of the box, as you can see, a REAL PRESENT!! When I opened the box, I saw the envelope, sitting on this PRESENT. I opened it, and it was a message from Debbie, as you can see. Yes, I AM EVIE BUNNY, on facebook :-) They wrapped her quilt in her fabric, and tied around it with her another pretty yellow fabric! I unwrapped the fabric, and inside, I found the Beautiful & cheerful flower wall quilt!! The size of this quilt is 30" x 30", larger than I thought! The details are Amazing!! You can see the back of this Amazing quilt on one of the pictures too. And she wrote my name, and signed on the corner!!! I will treasure this Beautiful quilt forever!! ... my recent project using her fabrics are a coster (luv making coasters!), and the background for my card, instead of using the paper, with the Coffee theme design! I love to buy her fabrics at my fav. Joann! :-) I still feel like I'm Dreaming... lol! :-) ps. I wanted to take better pictures with better background/wall. Some of you know that I live here temporary, and unfortunately I don't have nice open space for better picture shots. lol...

another "BACK TO SCHOOL" challenge!!

I must've been missing school so much?! This is my 3rd?, and I have to make at least one more for the swap I participate in, this month! The difficult part, making this theme card is that I have very limited "school theme" things to make cards. At the Pixie Cottage, they are running "back to school" challenge and/or the sketch. I chose both, and here is my card. I also flipped the sketch. For previous 2 cards, a "house mouse" and "tilda" looked happy and ready to go back to school, but this house mouse.. it seems he isnt' ready to go back to school yet... lol :-) I received this image from my house mouse online friend, Mary Anne (thanks again!), last fall, but last fall, I didnt' make any "back to school" card! I used old CTMH apple stamp, heat embossed them, to give a bit of thickness, and adhered onto double loops ribbons. The ribbon with printed apples is the last small piece I found in my stash :-) I put those tiny buttons on the corner with matching colors.

Back to School~Tilda Version!~

This time, I made a card, using Tilda, for "back to school" challenge at Totally Tilda challenges, Stamp Something, and PaperPlay. Also at Magnolia Stamp Lovers, they are running the challenge of "Primary colors". I used Simon Says challenge's sketch. I cut the 'school' theme paper which I found at nearby scrapbooking store. It's been hard for me to find school 'related' things for my card, but I found this 12 x 12 BoBunny's paper, cut the part where there was a school building. I stamped the sun trimmed, to fit in that frame. I punched out a cloud, distressed the edge, and adhered it in that frame. I cut the yellow with grid lines part from the same paper, used the border punch, to follow the sketch, and for the sentiment. I attached those with pop up glue dots to give a bit of dimention, and then I cut Tilda out, and adhered her with pop up glue dots too, to give even more dimention. I used 1/4 of this 12 x 12 paper where the design of Blackboard was. I punched tiny holes, to use twines. I used uniball Signo white pen to draw stitches around the sentiment & side scallop border. On that same paper, I saw the math problems as its design. I DREW exactly the same way as the desgin, with unibal Signo pen. Surprisingly the WHITE color became soft PINK on this black background! lol So, I used sakura white opaque gel pen to draw the stitches around the blackboard. :-)

I luved school. I wish I was Tilda, going back to school! LOL School was Really FUN! :-)

My online friend, whom I've just met In Person told me that her birthday was like 2 weeks ago, so I decided to make a "belated birthday'" card. I used the sketch at Scrap-Creations , for this week's challenge. I love this sketch! It's cute! :-) I colored the cat & mouse, cut them and attached to the base, with pop up glue dots, to give a bit of dimention. I used Glossy Accent for the glass jar. I also used pop up glue dots for the main image, to attatch to the base CS. I used scallop circle nestie die and embossed with cuttlebug folder. I used fiskar's stamp for the corner, in white, then heat embossed it. I love this image! :-)

I love this image. When I saw this stamp for the first time, I thought of Chocolate covered strawberries! lol! You can see it here, if you'd like to know what I mean:-) I have a "house mouse" online friend's birthday, coming up for next month, but I couldn't wait to make this card for her. I usually make birthday cards when I get inspired so this will sit at my place for a month. lol! At House Mouse & Friends Monday challege, they are having "Let's Get Fruity" challenge. I thought this would be perfect :-) Also at The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge, they are having "Shaped" card challenge. This is my newest nestie die and wanted to use it! :-) And in fact, the shape & the size was perfect for this Cute image! I colored another image of mouse & "chocolate covered strawberry", cut them, and adhered with dimentional glue dots to give a bit of dimention, as well as the white card stock with distress ink around, and the sentiment. I used Glossy accent for chocolate to give a bit of a real look, and so is candle. I used glitter glue to the fire.

2 "Fancy Folding" cards

Great challenge at Stamptacular Sunday! I've almost always loved to make 2 folded cards but this year, I've been trying to make 3D/different folding cards, for a change! lol Anyways, I made two fancy folding cards for my House Mouse group I belong to, for many years, for RAK to my long time house mouse buddy, Yara for her anniversary and for a swap, "summer fun" theme. My anniversary RAK is "Diamond Folding", and the "summer fun" swap card is Origami Diamond Folding". For Anniversary card ~ I used red liquid pearls for berries, pearl pen for around the image in the nestie die and the edge of the sentiment border. I love this pearl pen from Viva Decor. Fun to make pearls more than liquid pearls. I colored & trimmed the mice, layered using Dementional glue dots, and for a little heart above the mice :-) The sentiment is Penny Black. Love the vertical sentiment :-) For Summer Fun swap card ~ You can't see it on the picture, but used glitter on the sand. Usually on the beach, sands reflects the sunshine, and glisten! :-) On the second picture, the "post it note" which I attached SHOWS... forgot to take it out when I took the picture :-( oh well, it's always in the mail so I can't take another picture. lol... I used Inkadinkado's seashells stamp, and distressed it, and they were all heat embossed. Back To School!

Although here in western PA, most school hasn't started yet, it seems schools across US have started... When I saw this sketch for the challenge at Sketch Saturday, for some reason, I thought of these apples & ABC for those 3 circle spots on the sketch, and right away, I remembered the recent image from House Mouse, and wanted to make a card :-) At Creative Inspirations & Delightful Challenges are holding "back to school" challenge (with Primary colours for Delightful Challenges), so this was perfect! To give dimentions, I attached the mouse, pencil, eraser and alphabets with pop up glue dots, and I put an extra glue dots for "A" for extra height. I didn't use pop up glue dots for the paper clip on purpose. Good thing I bought this Distressed looking apple & saying background paper when I stopped by the scrapbooking store last time :-) Apple stamp is from old CTMH. I used the wavy embossing folder for the border on the top. I love school, although I graduated from college many years ago, but "school was fun!" :-)

I made this card for SSS119 challenge, which is a sketch challenge. I cut these 2 mice with chocolates images from one stamp image. I used sakura clear glaze pen for chocolates, and mouse's teeth, and I used glossy accent for the icing. I attached 2 images with nestie dies with pop up glue dots to give some dimention. I'm going to send this to my "house mouse friend" who recently came home from the surgery.

Bridal Shower Card

I went to a bridal shower on saturday, and I made this small rounded card to attach to my gift. She isn't a stamper, and when she saw the front, she just said, "ahhh...." :-) After bride maid kinda lost on how to fold the card back, I went to her, explained very quick while the bride-to-be was still opening my gift, how this EASEL card was diplayed. I used Fiskars punch to make this beautiful rounded die with lacey image around. I cut a bit larger circle, adhere glitters. Then I cut another larger circle from CS, to finish the front. I stamped another image of the bouquet, cut only the flowers & leaves, adhered it with pop up glue dots to give a bit of dimention. At Simon Says challenge this week is having a Shaped (no square) card so I'm submitting this card to the challenge.

House Mouse & friends monday challenge is having 100th challenge blog-hop celebration! Since I luv our mice (!!), I HAD TO make a card! lol :-) I needed to make a card with "Buttons, Bows and Bling"! First I picked up this heart shaped gingham button which was on clearance section at Joann. For some reason, I really liked it! :-) So, from there, I started to think which house mouse stamp to use, & design of this card! I colored this hot chocolate image. I used sakura gelly roll pen (clear star) for the steam, to give a bit of shimmer. I colored the mice, cut them out, and layered on the image for 3D effect. I used Sizzix embossing folder, coloring the folder with fire brick distress ink, embossed it, and used the same pen to give a bit of shimmer on each petals of poinsettia, and used stickels (red) on the center of flowers. These are all a bit hard to see on the picture though. I'd been wanting to use this banner stamp from lawn fawn for a long time, so I'm happy to use it for the first time! :-) Another christmas card is done. :-) Since I'm one of those stampers who gets panic after thanksgiving, not having many christmas cards done yet, so this is a good thing! lol :-)

I'm also submitting this card to Creative Inspirations Challenge; Christmas in July. :-)

Hibiscus ~ my fav. flower :-)

I luv Hibiscus. When I was in elementary school, my mother used to take me to Tropical islands for summer vacations, and Hibiscus was the one I remembered the most. For a kid, the flower looked BIG & Beautiful! lol. When I think of Guam, I think of plumeria & bougainvillea more but hibiscus has been my most fav. Tropical Flower. Now, of course, we don't have those beautiful flowers here BUT I was very surprised that they SELL these flowers here! I even saw a lady buying a couple of pots of hibiscus at the grocery store where I was. I couldn't resist to take some pictures. And these are the ones. I'm also adding the yellow one which I took a picture at my friends' house a couple of days ago. I know, they aren't by the beach... oh well... Red hibiscus was the first one to remember from my childhood but aren't they all so pretty?? :-)

I loved this sketch when I found it at one stop craft challenge, but I missed the deadline to submit :-( But I'm uploading this here so that my "House Mouse" friends can see my card, using this sketch :-) Since the color of the bird is really blue, I wanted the whole card to be in blue tone. I used cuttlebug embossing folder with birds & branches on Coordination CS & sanded it to get those white color. I used glossy accent to the berry the bird brought for this mouse :-) Inside of the card, it says "the best present". Others are rather self-explanatory. Thanks for visiting my blog today. 2011 Women's World Cup in Germany

Until we went out to eat & my friend saw on TV screen that Japan had just won in OT against Germany, I never knew that Women's Wold Cup was going on. Because they beat Germany, they had a game against Sweden a week later, and I could watch the whole game. Then, because they beat Sweden, I could watch the whole game a week later against US for the final. I even didn't know that there was a Women's World Cup! Baseball & Soccer are both very popular in Japan but I remember I watched only MEN's, not the WOMENs'. Japanese always have problems in those games they need lots of energy & speed, like Soccer, running that big field for at least 90 mins, with a bit of break. Just because they are smaller/shorter. Because they eat fish which helps to prolong your life than eating red meat but the meat usually gives boost & energy to young people, for shorter time, like in US, even it isn't healthy in a long run. Many Americans don't know all this but this is what Japanese always say. But maybe shorter people even here in the US have experienced in school, competing with TALL classmates in PE. I heard that Japanese team was the shortest in World cup, and Swedish was the tallest. I saw Swedish players just pushed and Japanese fell a couple of times through the game... That's why Japanese hardly ever win those games, track, etc. which you need speed & lots of energy, but they sometimes win, like gymnastics. So this was a BIG accomplishment for them!! I favored US, BUT I was shocked and CRIED after Japanese team won, because I could feel how All Japanese felt. For US, those people who were involved, winning the world cup is their dream come true too but soccer isn't as popular here, as it is in Japan. Probably most Americans only cared about "winning" the Gold/Cup, as a fellow American. But for Japanese, it's different, not only Soccer is very popular, but esp. this year, after 311. yes, I learned from my mother they call that earthquake & tsunami, "311" in their conversation (like 9/11), cuz the name of that earthquake is long. ... If they didnt' lose over 24,000 (?) people on ONE DAY in that Peaceful country after WWII, I probably didn't cry, but said I was shocked, and still be happy cuz I usualy root for Underdogs. lol. But of course, even US won, I would've been happy too :-) I luv to watch the game as long as it's exciting & very close, and as long as referee doesn't call the penalties wrong. The game was so exciting & very close. As Wambach said in her interview after the game, it looked as if it wasnt' meant to be, after missing several goals in the first 20 mins. or so when US was dominating the game & had numerous opportunities. Watching the first 20 mins., I thought US would win, like everybody expected by 2-0, if not more. Even US won, I wanted SAWA, the captain to score at least ONE to get Golden Boot (as the tournament's top scorer), so that at least, Japan would have something to be happy about. But not only she took World Cup & Golden Boot, she was also named as the Player of the Tournament (Golden Ball)! Many people might've forgotten about 311, but still across Japan is suffering from shortage of power due to 4 reactors aren't working. I heard that the team couldn't practice due to no light at night. I heard that one player lost 4 friends at once. I heard one's best friend working for that damaged nuclear power plants, not knowing what would happen next, and couldn't make it to Germany to cheer for her. Last night (US eastern standeard time), the team returned Japan, being welcomed by so many, incld. their prime minister, and he even said that he was encouraged by them (by those little girls, compared to the prime minister!), to NEVER GIVE UP. :-) I am too. :-) On lighter note, I'm impressed with them cuz Japan is still a MAN's world, NOT women's. My mom always get surprised whenever she sees American Ladies in spot light from Political to financial arena. I don't recall Japanese MEN's soccer team ever went to finals at world cup even they have Professional MEN's soccer LEAGUE in Japan. My mother told me that slowly but steadily she sees more women in business, management, politics. So, me as a woman, I'm also happy with this result! :-) The typhoon is approaching Japan as we speak, and has already hitting the southern part of Japan, with torrential rains... when this happens, the mudslide usually occurs, and people get killed... Japan really needed the emotional lift. Japanese had 25 games against US, and never won before, and they won this World Cup! I even gave up after US scored 2-1, but team never gave up. The winning money will go to the victimes from 311, according to a team member. At least hers, she said. Those victims from home was her biggest motivation. Before I close this post, I just want to add that I was amazed Megan Rapino's footwork when she kept the ball, Hope Solo & Wambach's interviews after the game. They are great girls & great teams! :) Congratulations to Japan, and thank you all for the great game, both US & Japan! :-)

Tilda celebrating Birthday in red, white & blue!

I used the sketch at Mojo Monday #199 , for the front of the card. Because of rather simple front, I ended up making a Easel Card. I'm submitting this card to Delightful Challenge for fancy folding challenge (and this is my 2nd submission there, for this challenge :-)) This card theme is Birthday, and I'm submitting it to Magnolia Mania & Simply Magnolia challenge. For the color challenge of Red, White & Blue, I'm submitting this card to Creative Inspirations, 7 kids college fund & Magnolia-licious challenge. The sentiment is old Hero arts stamp, the balloon is lawn fawn, and cupcakes are also magnolia stamps. The main image & the balloon are attached with pop up glue dots to give some dimentions, as well as cupcakes so that they would hold the front part of the card. I used glitters on the frills of Tilda's dress, glaze on her ribbons, shoes, ribbons on the cupcakes & hearts sprinkles.

House Mouse Birthday Card for the Swap

I made this card for the swap in the house mouse yahoo group I belong. I'm submitting this card to Allsorts challenge where they are running "FREE" theme (meaning Anything is fine! :-) ) I colored Ice cream in 3 colors! like the one I recently did, to POPSICLE image! LOL! :-) I cut the scallop circle nesties from pink textured & brown CS separately, cut the top of brown one to layer on pink nestie, so that pink sentiment label pops up more on brown color (and used dimentional glue foams, too) I used the glaze pen over the mice hats but doesn't show well on the picture... I used Glitter glue for the flame. Those glitter gems are from my house mouse online buddy, Peggie, from my Bingo winning prize! (thanks Peggie!)

Christmas in July! Criss Cross Card :-)

This is the theme at Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Also, "Fancy Fold" is the challenge at Delightful Challenge. I've been making more different "folding" cards this year, as you all noticed?? Because, I got MS's Scoring board this year. How FUN to fold, using the board!! lol! :-) I might make more different "folding" cards for Delightful Challenge before their deadline :-) I've recently made this Criss Cross card using Tilda, but Vertical one. I made Horizontal one this time :-) I've received this PB image from my online friend last year, and had been wanting to color it :-) I used stickles for snow, and for the first time I used very light blue to outline the image (learning from Elizabeth A.! thanks! :-)), instead of light grey I've been using. I've bought this light blue Copic marker at the stamp show I've went last weekend. Inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment & holly and used liquid pearls for berries. For this, you can just put the name on the white part, and when I mail this card, I'll put a piece of white cs in the back of this moss green cs, to write a note to the recipient. I'm also submitting this card to Allsorts challenge where they are running "FREE" challenge (meaning ANYTHING is fine! :-) )

By the way, my best friend called me. She received her birthday card & her daughter's birthday card from me. Their birthdays are only 3 days apart so I mailed them together, in a larger padded envy. She told me that her daughter who enjoys my card very much (she became 10) made a handmade card for her mother (my best friend), getting inspired by ME! :-) I'm tickled :-)

House Mouse with Strawberries... Yumm! :-)

I made this YUMMY card for this week's challenge at CardPatterns, using the sketch shown. I rotated it by 90 degrees. It's rather a simple pattern but I thought it's perfect for this house mouse strawberry image! I love anything/anyone with Berries (any kind) images!.. I might've mentioned that before. lol :-) I also made this card,using the color challenge at the Corrosive Challenge; Red & white. Sometimes it's fun to change the colors from the original colors, and it still looks nice. For this card, I punched the leaves out from red glitter papers, instead of green, which I normally would use. After coloring strawberries with watercolor pencil, I used black pen to trace the seeds. Then I traced all the black colored seeds with sakura clear glaze pen to give a bit of shiney look & a bit of texture. Thank you for stopping by my blog today! :-)

Tilda with Summer Flowers!

When I think of "summer flower", I think of Sunflower :-) I used my new hero arts envelope pattern stamp to make a background paper, stamping in yellow first, brown , second, but moved the stamp a bit, and again, I stamped it in yellow, moved a bit again so no stamping image would overlap each other, to make this background paper. Then I distressed the edges. I also colored the white flower with yellow ink to match, cuz I didn't have a yellow flower. When I think of summer, one thing which comes to my mind is Popsicle! lol! I remembered that House Mouse line has a couple of images. A couple of weeks ago, we, the HM BUDDIES in the group chatted about the color of the popsicle for this image. Some weeks ago, I saw this picture at Moxi fab, and I'd been wanting to color it like this picture on the right. Then a couple of days ago, I saw this picture in ads from nearby grocery store, and since 4th of July weekend is getting closer, I decided to color it like the picture below, also :-) The sentiment was colored with red & dark blue glitter pens. Both main images were attached with pop up glue dots to give a bit of depth to the card. I'm submitting the pink one to House Mouse & Friends monday challenge this week. The theme is "here comes SUMMER"! :-) The card is pretty much self explanatory :-) I'm submitting 4th of July card to Cupcake Inspirations, Crop Stop challenge ('Show your national colors!') and Delightful challenges ('Red, White & Blue'). Both cards are rather clean & simple but I really wanted to color these popsicles in different colors which I was inspired by the photos I've seen :-) Thank you for stopping by my blog today. "Happy 4th of July!" ...from Tilda

Tilda has already started, celebrating this weekend for Independence day! :-) This week's challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers is "buttons", and I wanted to use these STAR buttons. Also I wanted to use old CTMH's Fireworks on the background, using perfect pearls; interference RED & BLUE. To be able to see them better, I used the flash to take the picture. I stamped "USA" in the flag, and glazed it with a glaze pen. I "faux stitched" around the word USA, using dark blue glitter pen. I also used glaze pen to make her RED shoes shiney & ribbon. This week's challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is Stars & Stripes. Perfect use for THAT ribbon on the card! :-) I also made two flags, using distressed DP, and distressed the edges, using distresser. I also embossed those papers, cut the each star, attached on the top left corner & on one of the flags. Background RED CS is also embossed with the same embossing folder. Tilda's image is attached with pop up glue dots, to give a bit of depth to the card. I'm submitting this card to Magnolia Mania where this week's challenge is Distress :-) I'm also submitting this to ...Wee memories where the theme is "party!". I've already submitted one card to them, a Birthday "party" card, but now, getting close to July 4th weekend, planning some 4th of July parties (and birthday parties) to go to, my mind is to CELEBRATE & Party for this weekend! :-) At Fresh Brewed Coffee, the theme is ALSO PARTY! This weeks' challenge at Simon Says Challenge is this Sketch. This is the card I made, and I'm very happy that I finally could use this stamp from Lawn Fawn!! :-), with new echo park's summer days papers, too! I used hero art's Clouds stamp to make one of the backgrond papers, stamping it with chalk ink. I used my new addition; label steel die from memory box for the sentiment. I luv this steel die! I punched clouds out from glitter papers which I embossed with swiss dots. I stamped the old CTMH sun, used sakura glaze pen to give a subtle glazy look over it, trimmed, and attached it. I adhered the shiney circle sticker on the button, and attached it on the center of the Ferriswheel. Isn't this a cheerful card?? :-) Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Have a great day!

I made this card, using my fav. image which I hadn't used for a year. Now it's time for all Critters on Penny Blakc Saturday Challenge! When I started to think of the card design, I saw this nice sketch at Card Pattern challenge, so I combined those 2 :-) Those 2 hedges are colored, trimmed and attached with dimentional glue foams to give a bit of depth, and the sentiment also. I used Glossy accent on ladybugs, cuz their red wings are always shiney :-) I used yellow glitter glue on the bee's wings. Others are pretty much self explanatory. Thanks for visiting my blog today. I luv summer. I luv beach, white sand, sunshine, blue sky, ocean breeze... I'm definitely a 80Fs girl, all year around! The temp. never gets lower than 74F (the lowest, one day in January in the past!) in Guam. Hawaii was a bit cooler. I remember I wore a pair of jeans to go out at night in January & february. One morning, after my graveyard shift, the temp. dropped to 58F, and I was shocked, and it was cold, taking a bus home, early in the morning... . I can make Summer cards all year long! lol! I only wear jeans to go to see the movies & doctor's office in Guam, all year around! Anyways, this is my card for "summer" challenge blogs; the Official Magnolia Inspiration challenge "Summer", All that scraps challenge "Magnolia challenge Summer Time", Stamptacular Sunday Challenge "Fun in the Summer", and Papertake weekly challenge "Here comes the sun"!! I wanted to color this image and make a card with it in the summer, and summer is finally, officially here, so I decided to use this image, with the float image. I used sakura clear glaze pen over the float to give the Shiney vinyl look. I used sakura clearstar gel pen for her wings. I used the scrap paper from my scrapbook on Guam, the ocean & the waves and used the nesties. I used dimentional glue foam for this main image to give a bit of dimention. I used the punch to make flip flops. The sentiment, sun & seagulls are from Inkadinkado. Others are all left over stickers from my scrapbook on Guam; seashells, plumeria flowers, and bubbles. I added 2 gems in the end. Oh "the sand" paper is also from the left over from the same scrapbook :-) I tored it using my hand, to make the natural line for the sandy beach. ... oh how I miss the beach & ocean breeze!! House Mouse Birthday Card

I made this card for the house mouse group. I used the sketch from stampendous blog a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was cute but til today, I didn't have time to make a card. Also at ...Wee Memories, the challenge is "Party time!" So I made a Birthday card :-) I used Fiskar's "everywhere punch" to punch the squares out, to make it looks like the party mice, peeking out from the windows :-) The sentiment is from Penny Black. I used the gold & silver glitters on the little swirls & the ribbons on the top of the hats. I used gold & silver gel pens to draw the dots around the squares. I'm going to mail this to my friend in the group next month for her birthday :-)

Strawberry Yummy Tilda

When I saw this Tilda stamp, I had to have it :-) I luv anything, anybody, with Berry image stamps, and I mean, all kind of berries :-) I made this card for Just Magnolia week111 "paper piecing to dress" challenge. I luv Paper piecing! And I found this strawberry paper from my stash. :-) When I thought of the design, I saw this sketch at Magnolia mania #13 "ribbon and sketch" challenge. So I made this card to submit to these 2 challenge. I think everything is pretty much self-explanatory :-) I did put glitters on the lace of her sleeves, which is hard to see on the picture, as well as the shining on strawberries and tilda's boots, to make them look a bit real, using sakura clear glaze pen. Anniversary Card

I made this anniversary card for my House Mouse friend. She is living "happily ever after" and I wanted to send her the card with lots of hearts & in red. I also wanted to make 3-D card since she luvs to layer a lot on her cards. This is my first time, making a Wiper card, something different :-) It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but lots of gems are placed, esp. on the main heart cut out. Since I put lots of gems, and the theme at House Mouse & friends Monday challenge this week is "Adorn with jewels", I decided to submit this card. Although this card is 3-d itself, I also layered a big heart with dimentional glue foams, and trimmed HM image and layered it with dimentional glue foams on this big heart also. I was kind of lost about the idea of this year's father's day card, mainly because I didn't find any stamp for it...then I remembered that I'd seen this origami folding shirt & tie, so I made them :-) This reminds me of my childhood... I used to luv folding papers, making lots of different things... My father passed away several years ago, but I always send father's day card to my mothers' where my father lived. I remembered that he liked light blue short sleeve shirt in summer so I used this paper for the shirt. Tie is ... the paper of ocean/water photo! Recently I joined this yahoo group, because I read this swap on their blog; Travel the world! Sounded Very Interesting so I joined this yahoo group, to be able to join in the fun of the swap! These haven't been my style, as most of my friends know ~ I luv Cute, Clean, a bit of Fancy... it took me a while to get used to tim holtz Distress ink cuz they weren't bright colors! lol! But I always admired the stampers who luvs to do the Vintage style, Collage, etc, and that was why I've been "following" this blog. It's also nice to get inspired from different perspective. Anyways, I enjoyed making these! They are different! One thing I noticed is that to make a piece like this, it's better to have all kinds of knickknack! lol! You'll never know what comes in handy, to finish the card. When I was deciding what places/cities/countries I want to make the bookmarks of, I could think of US (and Hawaii and guam), Japan, Australia & Germany where I lived long enough to get to know the places, but I don't have enough images for Australia & Germany. When I remember Sydney, Opera House & all different kinds of animals and birds came to my head and I even searched online for digis (so that I can just download right away) but no luck. When I think of Germany, all drinks & food & beautiful buildings/bridges but not enough images to make a card/bookmark. Then I remembered ONE 12x12 paper of the pic. of the collection of Stamps from all over the world, which I bought, like 2 years ago but never had a chance for my card yet. In fact, I was looking for a German postage stamp in there, but instead, I found the Jamaican Stamp!! I lived in Montego Bay for 3 months, so I got to know the place, just a little bit, and remembered Blue Mountain Coffee!! "Coffee/tea" theme has been my fav. for many years so I have those stamps. And other than coffee, I remembered the word; "ya man", and Beautiful beaches, which I have plenty of stamps of, from me living on tropical islands for 12 years. I made Jamaican flag, using the distress inks. I used the distress stickles for sand on both Jamaican & Hawaiian bookmarks. I made my Hawaiian card first. That was easy, from the recent memory. I still remember, being able to watch many turtles on the beach, like a couple of feet away, although this turtle stamp is from Guam. I used glitters on the flowers, incld. on hula dancer's heads. Small plumeria flower & "aloha" are stickers. All stamps for Japanese bookmark is from Posh Impressions' Japanese Collection. I used sakura clear star gel pen for wings of the butterfly, to give a subtle shimmer. It's hard to see it on pic. though... The small nestie label says "Japan" in Japanese, and RED in the middle, to imitate Japanese Flag. Those bubbles are stickers. I used stamps from different companies for US one. I also have many selection of Patriotic stamps. I used "liberty" stamp, trimmed them with stamp edge scissors, and attached them. "D.C" are stickers. So, here you have it! My long post on these 4 bookmarks! I really wasn't thinking of christmas, but it turned out to be a good thing that i will make ONE LESS christmas card toward the end of the year, when I usually get more busy, like everybody else! lol. Anyways, I made this card to the house mouse group I belong, to upload my card, with the sketch I used. The sketch is from Mojo Monday but last week's one. I really luv this circle sketch but I wish I had GRAND nesties for a BIGGER card, and more selection of the stamp. Yes, that was the problem. This House mouse CHRISTMAS stamp was the only one, which fitted in the size of this circle!! Also I really wanted to show the Pretty papers behind the main image, too. I think it turned out Very Cute, as I wanted :-) I might use this sketch with some other stamp (non HM) in the future. I used MS flocking powder on his cute santa's hat. Birthday Card ~ Tilda

When I was thinking of making a birthday card for my "house mouse/magnolia" stamping friend, I remembered my Birthday embossing folder. Then I remembered that this week's challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers is "Dry embossing for background", and this is the card I made. I'd been wanting to make this Center Step Card after I saw this on tutorial. It's not as difficult as it looks, and I really like the card. I might make another Center Step Card soon. :-) Anyways, for the challenge, I also embossed the swiss dots on the background of gift boxes. Those gift boxes are attached with dimentional glue foams, as well as Tilda with a balloon image. Each gift box has ribbon tied, as well as the buttons with glitters. Recently I received a big RAK from my "house mouse" stamping friend, and Everything was in Lemons & yellow, and it really cheered me up, and now I want to send a Very Cheerful card to my friends' birthday :-) I even decorated a bit inside, which I hardly do! lol Well, my friends, thank you for visiting my blog today! Another Birthday card with Hydrangea!

Yesterday when I was visiting fellow stamper's blogs, I stumbled onto these 2 challenges. ... I realized that there are soooo many challenges on the blogging world!! Anyways, when I saw this color challenge at CR84FN , I thought of my fav. Hydrangea stamp. Then I stumbled onto another challenge. It's a sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers, and I, again thought of Hyrangea stamp. Then I remembered I needed to make a Birthday card for Birthday swap I participate throughout the year, and need to make a card for June, I decided to make this card. I embossed the Kraft CS with Cuttlebug embossing folder for background. I cut out the hydrangea image, attached it with dimentional glue foams, as well as the sentiment. I punched out 2 butterflies from 2 different colors of papers. One on the top has shimmer in it, but it would blend in to the background CS color, so I punched the darker paper to adhere it underneath. You can see them on the 2nd picture. I know, it's a bit early, and in fact, I was thinking of making a card for memorial day with my fav. "mouse", I ended up making a card for "4th of July" after me finding a nice DP which says "4th of July"! Well, time is FLYING (as usual!), so before you know it, it'll be July 4th! lol :-) I made this card, from the sketch at this week's Inspirational Card sketches "116" challenge. I'm also submitting to Simon Says Challenge, for this week's theme "Stars & Stripes". Great timing, Perfect! :-)

4 stars on 4 corners are trimmed from the embossed red & dark blue papers, which I used cuttlebug embossing folder for, then, attached to the 4 circle die cuts. Those & main image are attached to the CS by dimentional glue foams to give more depth to the card. Other 4 circles are attached by regular glue (flat). You can see them on the 2nd picture. The upper right corner circle & lower left corner circle are made from my stash. I heat embossed the US flag image about a year ago. I found this in my stash, punched the circles out from the US flag image, and used them in this card. Other circles are punched out from DPs.

for Etsy Inspired Challenge #138 I made. I didn't realize that ETC now runs one challenge for 2 weeks, but today is the last day anyway! lol! I have only 1 hr left to post! This is the photo I was inspired by, from Bear Creek Design and Felting. All stamps except the sentiment are from Inkadinkado. The sentiment is from TPC studio. All are heat embossed in clear EP. I draw the stitch line right on the embossed frame line. The main nestie die is attached by dimentional glue foam, and small nestie die in the middle is again, attached by dimentional glue foam to give even more dimentions.

I luv this sentiment from Lawn Fawn too :-) Since it's "Clean & Simple", I didn't do too much, other than coloring the image, put a bit of glitter on butterflies, corner heart punches, placing tiny white pearls in them, baker's twine, nestie die, and distressing around the sentiment.

This week's challenge at House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge is "May Flowers". This is the card I made. I colored the mice with water color pencils, used glossy accent on the mouse's eyes, and a bit glitter on the flower. I inked the inside of nesties with distress inks. I punched out the small butterflies from shimmering purple paper. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I also stamped the flowers from my HM Lavender stamp (partially inked the stamp), and put some glitters here & there. I used pop up glue dots for the main image & the sentiment.

Baby Card

I hardly ever make a baby card, but two days ago, my godmother's daughter had her first baby, first Grandchild for my godmother! I also remembered that Simon Says Challenge is having the theme of "look what the stork brought!". I layered one image over the stamped image to give a bit of dimention, then I layered ONE MORE onto the mouse face with tiny hands, and two feet to give more dimention.

The baby's name is Avery Bell. "Avery" means happy gift from God:-)

"Friends" card for CIC #110

Over 2 weeks, I didn't make a card. ha! Lots are going on here (mostly not good things :-( ) But I finally found the time to make a card! I got inspired by the photo at Cupcake inspirations challenge #110 ; flowers, bees, butterflies, grass, green, yellow, pink...so here is my card! The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and luving it! I used TH's distress ink in 3 different colors around the sentiment. It's attached with dimentional glue dots. I also colored white CS in those color inks, and stamped flowers, then cut & attached to the stamped images on green with dots background paper. I luv the way those flowers colors came out, instead of using other coloring media. I used border punch to create Grass in two different colors, layered them, attached on the buttom of the flowers. Those bees are old CTMH. I paperpieced their bodies, attached them,and used vellum for the wings, and used stickles to give them a bit of shimmering. I also paperpieced the butterfly which came in a stamp set of flowers from Fiskars. I used sakura clear glaze pen for body & antenae of bees & butterfly, to give more definition. It's very hard to see in the pic. but they are there! :-) I used sakura white opaque gel pen for dots inside of the blue flowers. Those bottons are clear yellow & clear lime green with glitters in them. I used baker's twines in two different colors. A bit of gems & tiny pearls and the card was finished! :-)

One ribbon is layered on another ribbon, to make that border. I'm going to mail this to my godmother in Virginia for this year's mother's day.

Mother's day card

I always think Rose, Carnation, bouquet, ... for mother's day, and I even planned to use another flower for focal point for this year's mother's day card. Then I saw the challenge at the Play Date Cafe. I really love these color combination, and this is the card I made. Yes, it's not a traditional mother's day card but I love tropical islands, and so does she. I made this dress into sun dress (esp. with halter neck) which i'd been wearing by the beach. Yes, I love RED clothe as many of you know :-) The dress stamp doesn't have spaghetti straps so I made one, using thin red ribbon with white polka dots, to make halterneck which I love to wear! We both love Hibiscus & seashells. When I was little, she always took me to tropical islands for summer vacation. Hibiscus is the first tropical flower I saw on the island. About 14 years ago, I moved to Guam (tropical island!) and she enjoyed visiting me there very much. Since Japan is still in chaos, and they are worried about Japan's future (cuz of not only aftershocks & OTHER earthquakes shaking other parts of Japan, the possiblities of explosion of damaged nuclear power plants, etc., but also electricity decificit & the existance of nuclear power plants as a whole), I made this card to cheer her up! The little birds, sentiment, banner & the dress are Lawn Fawn (and all are attached using dimentional foams), hibiscus is from Guam's original stamp company, seashells are inkadinkado, the background dots I stamped for paperpiecing for dress, banner & little birds is Stamp Camp's, and the line stamp is Hero Arts. It's hard to see but I heat embossed the red dots for the dress, to give more texture. So I'm also submitting to Simon Says Stamp challenge. I also stamped several hibiscus & lines, like the front, to make a frame inside of the card.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #107

This is my first card to this challenge. I stumbled onto somebody's blog, and saw this inspiration photo. I got so many ideas, looking at this photo. Unfortunately I found this photo very late. I just finished one card, and the challenge will expire in almost 2 hrs! Anyways, this is my card. The dress, the sentiment on the vellum and hearts are from Lawn Fawn, and Cherry blossoms is from Posh Impressions. Except the sentiment, all is heat embossed. I had this paper stack of Asian theme and found the chinese character which Japanese uses it for wedding, and cut it using my nesties. I used another paper with many butterflies from this paper stack for the background. I also did paperpiecing using another paper from the same paper stack, to match with the cherry blossoms. I've handdrawn the wavy stitches & dots around on the butterflies' background paper. I attached the dress & the chinese character with pop up glue dots to give a bit of dimention. I wish I had more time, and I would've made a couple more cards using this pic. I luv this inspiration pic.! I'm also submitting this card to Simon Says Challenge. This week's theme is "Embossing"! :-)

Tilda~Easter Card Take 2!

I wasn't planning to make another easter card with Tilda's image, til I read the comment on my 4.12 post; "You made me feel the need to paint easter eggs..."! I remembered this image and she luvs Tilda too, I decided to make another card, and submit this card also to Magnolia Stamp Lovers Easter challenge, again! I used Hero Arts' old Egg stamps (4 in a set), randomly, in different colors of memento inks. The sentiment is from old Inky Antics. Again, I used gell pen here & there but the pic. doesn't show but she will see them :-) Those butterflies are also punched out from shimmery papers. I mailed it yesterday. Hopefully she will get it before easter.

Birthday Card

I made this card for "Birthday" challenge this week at Just Magnolia. I had my best friend's daughter's birthday in mind, although it's in July. But I often run out of time, so this time, I'll be ready, to just mail in early July! Besides, her mother who is my best friend also has her birthday only a couple of days different from her daughter, so I have to make that one later too. The background stamp is from Inkadinkado. I inked those loops of the square nesties with memento's ink, directly, the color I used to stamp the birthday background stamp. It's hard to see on the pic. but the ribbon & tiny hearts of cupcake image, chef tilda's frills on the dress and the ribbon of the present & another tilda's frills are all shimmery, using gell pen. It's much more shimmery, in person than this pic. :-)

"masculine" Birthday Card with 4 meanings in it!

This card has 4 meanings. First, the recipient loves Hockey. The snoopy ice hockey player stamp comes with the puck in a design, and I inked that puck only, many times, to make this "frame". Ice hockey skates is from Jolee's. I attached it with dimentional foam but also attached the baker's twine, to look like it's "hanging". Secondly, the color combination of black & gold is Pittsburgh Penguins' Color and black & gold (more like Yellow) is also Steeler's color. I bought this background paper, black with yellow random spot. The seconcd pic. shows the inside of this card. The recipient always wants to claim "he is the KING", and I found this image of crown & the sentiment in my CD, so I printed it out, added the gold pearls, traced the image of "KING" with Golden gel pen. I used the nesties to cut the gold color CS, layered it under the printed out white CS. Well, that's the 3rd meaning on this card for this recipient. Adding this "Penguin" cheerleader with pom pom in gold is the final touch to the card for "Pittsburgh PENGUINS" fan! LOL! I luv this card! LOL!

Tilda~Easter Card

I made this card for 3 challenges combined; Just Magnolia (Sketch), Magnolia Stamp Lovers (Easter), and Simon Says Stamp (Spring colors or Easter creation), and for SSS, all DT featured Magnolia's stamps for this challenge, so it's even better! This is the sketch & this is my card :-) I luv this background paper, and had been wanting to use! Since it has all the spring colors, I thought it was perfect for Easter! I guess everything you see on the pic. is self-explanatory. :-) For Tilda's coloring, i used Sakura Clear Glaze pen to look like silk ribbon around her waist & back bow, which is hard to see on the pic. Also I used Sakura Clear Star Gelly rollpen for tiny dots on her Pretty Yellow Boots! I think THAT yellow boots really makes this card "Cheerful" Looking! :-) I'm sending this to my friend for this easter too :-)

Easter card

I bought this bunny stamp from Hero Arts Last spring, and never had a chance to make a card... til now! I Really wanted to use this stamp for one of this year's easter cards, and I saw the Sketch challenge at Hero Arts blog, so I decided to make a card. There are 4 sketches to choose from and I chose the 2nd from right. The sentiment & two stamped eggs are also from Hero Arts. I colored the bunny with water color pencil and luv the way it turned out; fuzzy looking! :-) I punched the grass in 2 different shades of light/lime green and attached those with dimentional foams. I used Impressabilities on "coor-dination's" "Color Core CS"s (2 different color), and sanded them so that the flowers & swirls would show up in "core colors" of the CSs. To finish it up, I used the different size of pink pearls on the center of those embosses flowers, depending on the size of the flowers. I'm going to mail this to my friend for this easter too. :-) ... I also found out that the Corrosive challenge is holding "Pastel colors" challenge this week, so I'm submitting this card to that challenge too :-)

House Mouse "Sketch"

This week's challenge at House Mouse & Friends is this sketch. I'd been wanting to use this image which I received LAST Easter, and hadn't had a chance to color, but now, it's Easter again! :-) I wanted to do something a bit different on this card, using pink/purle and lime green/yellow combination, with a hint of blue... like all spring-like colors esp. for Easter, to use them in one card. So, I created the background like you can see it on the pic. First, I chose the paper to match with one of the egg color and layered it under that colored egg side, and purple cs to match with the other side, the purple/pinkish colored egg. I attached 2 eggs, stamped & trimmed, in blue & purple, to match the image, and punched the grass from lime green cs, adhered with dimentional foams. Then I attached two yellow flowers with the similar color & design, above the house mouse colored image. I also found these clear yellow buttons with glitters in them, at Joanns', and had been wanting to use. So I attached those in the center of the flowers. I tied the ribbon, using the same colors of Baker's Twine in yellow/white, and lime green/white.The sentiment is an old Darcie's stamp. I used the Sakura Glaze clear pen for the mice's eyes, chocolate smear on their faces & the chocolate where the mice bit, to show a bit of "wet" looks. I like this pen cuz of the more flexibility due to being a PEN, compared with Glossy accent, and it won't give too much dimention, but just right :-) Of course, I luv my glossy accent for different usage but for the ones I used on this card, I like the way this pen worked :-) I'm mailing this to my friend for this Easter...:-)

at Lawnscaping challenge this week. I've been wanting to use this Smiley Penguin for a very long time, with this sentiment. In fact, I once tried to make a card with this penguin & the sentiment but something happened, and I didn't finish the card. Anyways, I had to make my own patterned paper with stamps, so I did, with these cute Penguins!! The baby penguin also came to HELP! lol :-) There is an airplane on the original sentiment stamp but i didn't ink that part. I really luv this grey copic marker so I used the marker to color the edges of the layering cs , as well as the Flamingo color marker to match the colors of images. I could've Embellished more but I didn't, because I wanted to emphasize more on BACKGROUND Paper which I created with stamping. The sentiment is adhered with dimentional foams. I haven't STAMPED this much on One card for a while, and it was actually lots of FUN! :-)

"HOPE" card for Japan

I'd been wanting to make a card, for Japan, to say "GANBATTE!". This word can be used in many ways but in this situation, you can translate as "hang in there", "Be Strong!". People say this word to cheer them up, others & themselves. Anyways I became to know this challenge through my "mouse friend" Mary Anne, and I finally made a card. For this week's challenge, the owners of this blog challenge are donating to the RED CROSS , depending on the numbers of people who plays for this challenge. Great timing :-) For the challenge, 1. I have to use Stash which has DUST on it! (lol!) and 2. I have to use color "RED" in honor of Japan. well, the STASH I used which I hadn't used is this DCWV "The far East Stack" 8"x 8" printed textured paper, which I found at Joann at Clearance section, over a year ago? I've hardly made Asian themed card but the price was soo good (70% off! ) to pass it up! lol... The crane stamp is Posh Impressions. I made a "Japanese flag" and stamped the crane over the center of the "flag". The sentiment is my own handwriting, "KIBOU" (meaning "HOPE"). There is always "hope" in everything...

at Lawnscaping Challenge this week. This is what I came up with. Still having a bit of snow on the ground, these "critters" found GREEN leaves, the sign of Spring! :-) It's a bit hard to see, but i randomly dotted on the stamped ground image, with Sakura Gelly roll Clear Star pen, thinking a bit of snow left. I tried different colors of stickles, but nothing worked well in my image, so I used this gel pen. In person, you can see more of it, and a bit silverish, although the pen says, "Clear". Actually not only this is the sign of Spring, to me, this shows the "HOPE" for survivors & all people in Japan.

at House Mouse Monday challenge #91 this week. Despite of my emotions being overwhelmed by Japan's quake & worries, I really wanted to make some cards, and I made this before the challenge expired :-) It's still cold here though, for "Welcome Spring" challenge...lol... I guess I wanted to make Cheerful card & punched out many flowers as you can see them on my card :-) The front petals of the flower & the mouse are colored, trimmed and layered with foam adhesives, but for the flower petals, only the top part, and the bottom parts which are connected to the stem are attatched with regular glue. It gave the depth for the flower, looking like the flower is actually blooming :-) Glossy accent on rain drops & mouse's eye. I don't mind the rain as long as it's WARM, pleeeze!! lol :-)

at Wee Memories this week. Sorry that I couldn't make any cards for a while after Japan's devastating earthquake, but I'd been wanting to use this Lawn Fawn stamp set ever since!! I planned to finish the card & post it yesterday but we had Tornado warning & hails, I couldn't do it, and instead, I posted about that...I'm really tired from these Mother Nature's Fury and I still can't really concentrate on creating things, like BEFORE the earthquake hit, but these "Critters" from Lawn Fawn make me smile everytime I play with them :-) I'm planning to make Many More Cards with these critter sets! :-) And the sentiment is a stamp from old time... "the Boyds Collection" ! I thought of spring for this scene, and wanted to use the Winter Critter/polar bear for Spring, and thought the sentiment is perfect, with bear in dark brown! :-) I used dimentional adhesive here & there, paper piecing here & there. I made the tree, adhering the top of each layer with regular glue and used dimentional adhesive to give an interesting look on the 2 bottom layers of the leaves of tree. Today, it's cooold again. It was like 65F yesterday, and this morning, it snowed! I'm Really Really Ready for Spring!! :-) ps. I'm sorry that I haven't really commented on your blogs... the disaster was too big for me to take...

Tornadoes & Hail in Western PA

It was really scary. In this area, I've heard that a couple of small tornadoes touched down in the past (like in 40years) so it's not common, but it did today... I've been through earthquakes, SUPER TYPOON (wind gusts over 235mph!!) but NOT TORNADO, and I Don't Want to ADD Tornados to my natural disaster list!...:-( When I left the supermarket around 4:15PM, the temp. was still around 65F. When I was about 2 mins away from home, the BIG rain drop started to hit the car window. At least that's what i thought that was. When I arrived home, started to unload the groceries, hail started to fall.. I hurried up. As soon as I came inside, the HAIL started to fall like crazy!! I think it lasted for 5 mins?, and we got this size of hail on the pic. It's MY HAND and this SEASHELL shaped hail was 1.75" x 1.5". We had larger hails than other places nearby, according to the evening news. Then I heard the siren, and turned on the TV, and we had TORNADO WARNING in this area!! I looked outside once again, and it got even darker than before, and could see the funnel of clouds in the distance... I got really scared... the tornado touched down the ground about 10~15 mins. drive away, RIPPED off the roof & others from Hempfield High school, and several houses' 2nd floor were ripped off which were on its' way. Actually there are 2 circulations in one cloud on the rador at that time. In 20 mins apart, another Big cloud was coming from downtown Pittsburgh to this way, with Hails & POURING rain... And this air system is going to drop the temp. to 17F tomorrow morning...sigh... again, today was like 65F!!! I'm glad though that the tornado didn't ripped this house & me... I haven't heard anybody got killed but for a while, I heard & saw many amblance going up & down the nearby streets... Hope everybody was ok... I planned to post a CARD after my last post on Japan's earthquake but I didn't have a chance to finish the card today cuz of this unexpected event...

Update on 3/24/2011 The tornado was EF2, max. 120mph wind, 90 homes were damaged, 30 of them completly destroyed...

It's been a week since Japan had a big earthquake & Tsunami. It's been a difficult one week, having my mother living in Tokyo. I've been talking to her every day (big thanks to US tel. companies who is giving us free service.) and sometimes twice a day so that she wouldn't get depressed nor worried, cuz of many big aftershocks and now radiation scare. My mother hasn't decided yet whether she leaves Tokyo or not...I've been trying to live my life as normal as possible but i'm having hard time dealing with my emotions. I've been glued to the news on tv & follow up online about the earthquake. I cry everytime I watch them, the survivors, who lost everything incld. the family members, but my feeling is nothing compared to those people who is facing the tragedy right now.... this morning, I heard from my mother that some relatives who went missing in Fukushima prefecture where those nuclear power plants are located, have survived!!, but again, too close to the nuclear power plants...I'm just praying for them to be able to fix the problem before it's too late...Today death toll rose to 6,900 and over 10,000 are still missing. It's like Kobe earthquake in mid 90s', when the death toll rose by 1,000 per day for several days... Over a year ago, I wrote my thought about the deadly earthquake in Chile, from my experience with earthquakes. I never thought I would be writing a year later, on this earthquake which happened on 3/11/2011 (2:46pm on Friday, local time). St. Patrick's Day card

I made this card for my "bestest" friend from college, Laura. We've been friends for many years now, since my 2nd year & her 3rd year in college. Although we haven't been able to hang out as much as we wanted to, after we both graduated, and me living almost always Very Far. ... now she has her own family and works long hours, it's getting even harder to keep in touch closely but I always send her cards for special occasions, so at least she knows I think of her so often. :-) I used this weeks sketch challenge at mojo Monday. I like this sketch! :-) I wanted to make the ROUND card but I really wanted to use this Sentiment from Lawn Fawn, and ended up making a square card. :-) I also wanted to use those tiny shamrock paper I recently found at local stamp store. Inside of the shamrock stamp, in the middle, I attached tiny heart shaped clear gems but when I took a pic. of the card, it seems that the colors of my shirt reflected and shows the dark pink & black stripe on CLEAR gems... lol..All images are heat embossed.

I received this Penny Black stamp from Kathy R. earlier this week (thank you, Kathy! ), and had been wanting to use this CHEERFUL stamp, coloring being inspired by her enclosed card! Her coloring is always vibrant & beautiful, and the card has a big butterfly on it, in Green. Since this stamp has a big butterfly, I wanted to color Vibrant like hers in different colors~Yellow. I made it in Yellow & WHITE because I saw the Tuesday Trigger challenge at Moxi Fav. (the pic. below my card). This pic. inspired me with these two colors & SPRING-like card. I'm also submitting this to Penny Black at Allsorts challenge since this month's challenge is "Welcome Spring", a card with Penny Black stamp, and to SCS for "Spotted Canary Spring Challenge". I didn't ink the hearts of this stamp so it would look more SPRING, to me! :-) I colored the image with Le Plume pens in different shades, like Kathy R. did, on her Gorgeous cards! (she uses tombo pens.) They both don't blend, like Copics but it's ok. I got more vibrant color effect (at least, in person! lol!). It's hart to tell from the pic. but I used glossy accent for those dots on the wings & the bottom tip of the wing. I used sakura clear glaze pen for lines of the wings, its' antenas, and the brown body. I did cut one larger wing image, and attached with dimentional foam on the top, but adhered the oppsite side with regular glue (no dimention) to the body. Since the wing is large enough, it doesn't show the gap of the height. I used the impressabilities on the background white CS. The sentiment and the main image were attached with dimentional foams. It's March. I WANT SPRING! :-)

Lawnscaping challenge #4 ~ Paper Piecing

When I saw these lanterns on sneak preview, I knew I had to have them! This is my first stamp set I ordered on the RELEASE DAY! Yes, I LUV these lanterns, and seriously, these stamps & paper piercing are Addictive! LOL!! This is my first card. If time allows, I might make more, and if not for this challenge, i'll still be making more cards with these lanterns!! Lanterns remind me of my life in Guam, Hawaii, and another place (I won't reveal here yet!) a lot! Maybe Guam & Hawaii have lots of Asian influence. These were introduced this month because of the inspiration from Chinese New Year, according to the owner of Lawn Fawn. I chose "tropical island" themed papers for paper piecing. I used baker's twine for strings. Wave & sand stamps are Old CTMH. I watercolored the waves. I sponged the white CS with the light blue dye ink. One leave, lanterns and sentiment were attached with dimentional foams. I luv making Tropical feeling cards! Those always make me happy while I'm making them! :-) The challenge details are found at here.

Penny Black Sat. challenge wk 139

This weeks' challenge at PB sat. is "Men's Card", so I made it rather simple, trying not make it shiney/pearly nor cute. It's hard, NOT to be cute with Penny black stamps but this is what I made. I recently received this Penny Black stamp from Kathy R (thank you Kathy!!) & wanted to use it! I did a bit of "cutting" for this image, dimentional foams on the owl's wings only. I used glossy accent on their eyes. I stamped vine on the background CS, and used the printed woodgrain paper. I'm sure I'm DECORATING more using the same image Next Time, for more girly card! lol! :-)

Deadly earthquake hit Christchurch, NZ...

I've been watching the news this morning, and my heart is aching... as you can see on my blog, on travel map, Christchurch is #9 of my fav. places to go list, among so may placces I've visited in my life, even I was there for only 5 days, on business. Christchurch is such a lovely, small city (although it's the second largest city in New Zealand), and I luv "kiwis"! They are one of the nicest people on the earth, in my opinion! I've once heard from somebody ELSE other than Kiwis that "kiwi husband" means "GREAT husband"! ..... I saw the cathedral being damaged...I'm pretty much familiar with earthquakes, living in Tokyo, Japan & Guam. I'm famliar with Pacific Plate... I even learned it in college when I took a Geology class... Earthquakes really make me scared. Living in east coast of US, I know most people have NEVER experienced the earthquakes in their entire life. Very lucky, in my opinion. Even when I was living in Sydney, Australia where earthquake isn't common, the earth SHOOK once!!... Earthquakes happen all the sudden, and in very short time (like 20 seconds!), the big shake DESTROYS many things, incld. people's lives... You can see the short video how devastating the earthquake was here....6.3 was the scale & so far, 65 was killed... they are afraid that many still have been trapped in the buildings... My prayer goes to the people in Christchurch & the city...

I used this nesties which is the closest to the sketch, but make it more similar, I used those pearls, to look like "one shape" with the oval nesties. Do you see that, like I do??!! lol!

Color Throwdown #129 & WMC44

Every time I see these colors (with white or no white), it reminds me of my tropical paradise life... so this is my card for Color Throwdown (#129)! Also, I'm submitting this card to Wee Memories (#44), for this week's challenge; Source of Inspiration! I get inspired by the NATURE the most, on my cards creation, and living in 2 tropical paradise for 12 years makes me to come up with the ideas with summer/beach/ocean/rain forest... anything to do with tropical islands life, very easily! The picture of the beach is from Guam, USA. So, "the sorce of inspiration" for this card is from my vivid memory of the islands & color challenge at color throwdown blog. For those butterflies, I colored the paper, using brayer with blending blox (multi colored ink pad), stamped the butterfly on the gradated blue card stock with versa fine black ink, then trimmed them. I used my latest addition of sakura glaze pen on those butterflies, here & there after everything dried. I cut & attached the center of the artificial flowers, for the large butterflie's antenas. I used dimentional foam for 2 front Banana leaves. Bamboo frame is Posh Impressions, Butterflies are Hero Arts, Banana leaves are Guam's original stamp company, and the sentiment is a dollor clear stamp from Michaels :-). These colors are really relaxing for me...

Fancy Tilda in Black, Red & Pink!

That's the the challenge at Manolia-licious challenge blog, and this is my card. Black & Red is MY colors (lol!), not Tilda's in my mind, and it was hard to choose the image for this colors challenge from a very limited numbers of Maggie's images I own... Well, Tilda is invited to Edwin's Piano concert, and she dressed up & waiting for him to play at the concert hall :-) I stamped music notes randomly in light pink & grey around the white piano. I used my new addition tool; Sakura's clear glaze pen for her pretty black shoes, her rose corsage, her black ribbon & belt, on the black keyboards and the wheel. I found this pen very useful. I would've used Glossy accent for those places but since this pen doesn't give too much dimention, other than GLAZE, I chose this pen for this card. Besides, it's a pen and easy to "glaze" in smaller places too. It's a bit hard to see them on the picture, though. I adhered glitters on her earrings & frills of her dress. I placed red gems on black corner punch which is a bit hard to see on the picture also. I put white stitch lines around the background paper, with Souffle white pen, to match with the white stitched black ribbon. The background paper is Bo Bunny's which Sue Kment sent to me. (luv it, Sue! :-))

I made this card for HM & friends Monday Challenge 89, HM & friends (February), Mojo Monday 178. HM & friends Monday Challenge is "Favorite HM stamp". I love All of my HM stamps! LOL! but I always think House Mouse & tea/coffee theme designs are "well-matched" :-) HM & friends monthly challenge is "LOVE". I'm tired of using red and pink for "love" cards this month, so I made this card in light purple :-) The picture doesn't show much but I used perfect pearl for coloring "water". I used Glaze pen for those tiny rose buds to give a bit of shiny look. I used cuttlebug's tiny hearts folder to emboss the circle and glitter it around the edge. Right now, I'm tired of color "white", after looking at snow for so long, and red & pink just because of Valentine's day cards! lol!

5 Sweets for Valentine's Day

For this year's Valentine's day, I baked 5 different sweets over one week time, 4 before Valentine's day & 1 a day after Valentine's day. First, I baked Muffins (chocolate) with pink icing & sprinkles which had white and red hearts. Before I had a chance to take a picture, they were gone. Then, I baked Peanut Butter Blossoms with Bliss chocolates (heart shaped), in 4 different version; 1 is without any sugar on the cookies, one with regular white sugar, one with RED colored sugar & one with PINK colored sugar. I wish I had a better PLATE to place them for Photo shooting... 3rd one was the heart shaped cinnamon crescent rolls. I saw this recipe on somebody's blog, and made them, using 2 cinnamon crescent rolls from Pilsbury's refrigerated dough, to make a heart shape. I didn't have a chance to take this picture either, before we ate them! lol! 4th one was Chocolate covered Strawberries. I sometimes make these just because I luv chocolate & strawberries! LOL! But this time, I dressed the strawberries a bit more, with white chocolate & "Valentine's day" Sprinkles :-) A day after Valentine's day, I baked this heart shaped brownies. It was more like cake. I luved decorating these hearts with chocolate frosting, white chocolate (made it in pink) & sprinkles. By then, I bought a Better Plate to display! :-)Over all, I baked a lot for this Valentine's day! :-)

What a nice Challenge this week at Wee Memories; "live, laugh, love"! I can make cards for this theme all year around!! :-) But well, this is my latest creation :-) I've been wanting to use this image & red heart doily! I placed tiny pearls in each small hearts on the border. White background paper (with "love" writings) & circle layering red heart paper is Bo Bunny which my HM online friend Sue K. sent me (Thank You, Sue!:-)) I used red glitter pen to draw "stitches" around the cats image & sentiment. I'm sending this to my godmother for Belated Valentine's day! lol... I did send e-valentine's day card but she is always looking forward to my Handmade card, so I'm sending this tomorrow :-)

HM Valentine's day card for my HM online friend

"She" sent me a very pretty HM Valentine's day card last year, and "she" told me that "she" is expecting my HM Valentine's day card this year! lol ;-) So, here is the card I made for you, Mary Anne! :-) I made this card, having HM & friends' Monday Challenge ("hearts") & Simon Says Stamp Challenge ("love is in the air") in mind. Yes, you can see lots & lots of hearts on this card! I used Glossy accent on the glass bowl & the mice's eyes. I stamped lot of hearts, using old SU!'s set, then heat embossed. I dry embossed the tiny hearts (cuttlebug), and added glitter here & there. I was kind of getting tired of looking at RED hearts on the Valentine's day cards I previously made, and wanted to choose the colors other than red. :-)

Simon Says... Animal Antics!

well, I made this card to my HM online friend, Sue S. but also Simon Says challenge in mind. This week's challenge is "Animal antics"! I luv Roasting Marshmallows, and I foud this stamp funny, not our mice roasting marshmallows but rather, "someone" is "stealing" their marshmallows on the bowl! :-) Since the stamp image is large, I made this card a bit large too, and since not much to do on the image itself other than coloring, I decorated some around the image. I luv Baker's Twine!

Mojo Monday 175

Ok, I miss summer, beach & tropical islands very much, as you can tell & some of you alreaday know... I decided to use these two stamps from Guam for this week's sketch at Mojo Monday. These flowers are named Plumeria and you always see them all over Guam! I saw 11 turtles on the North Shore of the island of Oahu, Hawaii, when I went there for the 2nd time, after I moved there. They come to the shore and I could even touch them because I was so close to one of the turtle! But I was told that it was inhibited. I also saw another turtle overturned by the wave, when it was trying to "climb??" the small rock on the beach. The group of 3 (2 young men & a girl) also saw this turtle, and a man went to HELP it, kind of pulling the turtle's hand, to the ground!! I'm attaching those pictures. We can see Dolphines often in Guam, and I even saw a Baby Shark during the low tide but this was my first time to see the TURTLE in wild, and there were even 11 of them! I counted them! LOL! That was a nice, fun & WARM day... while I'm typing this, Pro Bowl is on TV... they are showing the sites of Hawaii...I lived in Waikiki where I could see Diamond head... two blocks from the beach...To make the turtle's shell a bit real, I used the glossy accent. I attached Plumeria & the turtle with pop up dimentional glue. Good thing that I had this "bubble" embossed CS in my scrap, to use, because my cuttlebug is broken...

House Mouse Challenge 87

This week's challenge at House Mouse Monday Challenge Blog is "Embossing". Unfortunately my cuttlebug broke after only 6 months of use... I realized how much we depend on these die cutting mashine... Anyways, so, I chose rather simple nestie die shape, traced around it, and used the scisoors to cut the main image & the layering CS. What did I emboss, then?? I did "traditional" Heat Embossing for all swirls and hearts on white background CS. I used an old SU! wheel stamp. I covered the white CS with this stamp in red, and used fine detailed clear embossing powder. Since the image is rather simple, I decorated a lot! :-) I put glitter on the edge of white CS & red CS of the image and inside of the punched out hearts. Vertical sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Simple, yet, the card looks nice :-) Anyways, I luv the way my card turned out :-) The rose stamp is Penny Black (old one! :-)) and the sentiment is a dollar red rubber stamp from Michaels :-) I used heart brads on where the stamped heart images are. I used the pop up glue dots for sentiment & the roses.

Mojo Monday 174 & HM Tea Swap

I really like this weeks' sketch at Mojo Monday blog challenge. I also needed to finish my HM Tea Swap for HM group I belong to, and this is what I made. I've been wanted to use this Cute background paper of "sweets", with my Tea stamp. I adhered glitters around the nestie, inside of the punched tiny hearts on the corner on the front, and flower petals. The main image is attached with pop up glue dots to give a bit of dimention. Inside, I made this pocket using border punches. The buttom of the pocket is a bit open in the middle, because I wanted to give a bit of space in the pocket, so that Tea bag can fit nicely :-)

This card is for 2 challenges; Magnolia-Licious Orange/Green Challenge & Magnolia-Licious Highlightes "Recipe" challenge (4 flowers, 3 types of patterned paper, 2 Magnolia images & 1 ribbon). I thought of making a Valentine's day card, but when I thought of the sentiment to finish this card up, "thinking of you" came to my mind. Actually a doller stamp image is Thinking of You being inside rather than Edwin image! Yes, that's just one stamp I used, but separately :-) I attached Tilda's image with pop up dots (and the sentiment) to give a bit of dimention. I used Crystal stickles all around of nesties, sentiment & Edwin, and also used them on roses & leaves. I've handdrawn the grass in 3 different colors of markers on the bottom of Tilda's image.

Tilda~Blue~My Fav.things...birthday card

I received another box from Guam, more of my stamp collection :-) This porthole stamp is one of those stamps which JUST arrived here :-) I'd been wanting to make a Birthday card for Audrey B. from Magnolia group I belong to, cuz she made me a BEAUTIFUL Japanese Tilda card for my birthday, and her birthday is coming. I also wanted to make a card for Magnolia Stamp Lovers' "Blues" challenge. I had another image, already colored in blue but after receiving this porthole stamp a couple of days ago, I changed my mind, and used my new addition, MINI Tilda Mermaid stamp. Good thing I did, cuz I just learned that at Just Magnolia blog, the latest challenge is "my fav.things", and One of my Fav. things is anything to do with the Beach/Ocean!! Esp. now, it's sooo tooo coooold here, and I miss my islands lives very much...when I'm making beach/summer cards, I'm very happy! :-) About my card...on the front, I attached stamped image of porthole with 3D pop up glue dots, after I used nesties to cut out the circle from the center of this stamped image, and other layers. I also cut the transparent sheet to make a "window", but when I took a pic. of inside of the card, because of this "window", you can see the reflection of my camera...lol... Inside of the card, I stamped Mermaid tilda, colored with watercolor pencils and glitter. For water bubbles, I used plastic stickers & glossy accent. I put some space between tilda and sea shells, to write the message to Audrey.

Tilda with buttons!

This week's Challenge at Just Magnolia is "Anything goes, with buttons", and I made this card for that challenge, using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I turned this image in 90 degrees, and here it is! When I heard the words, "button", I wanted to use this Stitching Tilda image! Then, a couple of days ago, i found this "sewing" theme background papers (2 different kinds) at nearby scrapbooking store. I distressed the lace ribbon, using the same distress inks i used for main image & the layering CS. The place I put the heart gem is where the stamp shows, "cross stitched heart". I used pop up glue dots for the main image, to give a bit more dimention. It's rather simple but I really luv how it turned out. I luv this sketch, and I luv the colors of this card, although it's rather subtle, and doesn't show the actual color well in the pic.... I tried to take a better pic., but it shows a bit more orangish than beige...

HM "New Beginnings" - Easel Card

That's the challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp & House Mouse Friends Monday. I don't have House Mouse "Happy New Year" kind of stamp nor Babies. I don't have Wedding related stamp nor School related stamp, so my "new beginnings" is "New Relationship"! :-), and I chose this stamp. I luv this nesties & colors I chose. I put a bit of glitter on the edges of tulips' petals in clear & red. I got these little hearts from the border punch, and I always keep those hearts for confetti and something else :-) Sentiment is from House Mouse image swap I participated a couple of months ago. I put glitters in the heart image. The swirls I attached is from Fiskar's this year's new punch. I'd been looking for swirl punch for a long time, and I really like this one when I found it at Joann, just 2 days ago, and in fact, that was the last one on the shelf :-) And of course, I could use 40% off coupon, so I was really happy! :-) I put a tiny red gem on each swirl, to finish this card :-)
