Congratulations!

On your new job!

My best friend got a new job. Woohoo! She's very excited! She'll leave the current job next month and will start the new job within a week.

I heard this news when the TV news had started to show Cherry blossoms in D.C. It's the thing there this time of the year. I had this beautiful paper in my stash, used it as the background paper on this card. No, I didn't make this beautiful paper. lol This is from one of the old calendars from Japan a couple of years. ago. When I find some beautiful papers, either from the calendar or wrapping papers, I trim the beautiful parts which I think I can use on my cards in the future, and keep them. I want this card to be simple, and wanna mail it asap. In Japan, April is the start of the school year as well as the businesses. Cherry blossoms can be seen across Japan from late March to mid April. New job, April, Cherry blossoms in D.C. are the inspiration of this card. Oh and she is from D.C. area. I die cut big sentiment 3 times to give a bit of interest on this card.

It's kinda hard to take a picture of the card front when there is a shiny design, and this case, all the "shiny" gold. ...there is no black on this card front. Darker shades on motifs are in shiny gold.

When I can't decide which color goes the best, I have to try them all. Also the color combination of two sentiments. Those gradation of pink I used is from Lawn Fawn's paper pack, which already has some gradation. I just used the fav.part of the gradation for the big sentiment die.

Hope you had a nice weekend, found some time to make some cards 😊 In Hawaii, it was a Prince Kuhio Day (state holiday), and it was a long weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day #2

 Aloha,

This is the card I made for "Coffee themed" card swap group I belong. So, what do you think? I purchased the clover dies from Lawn Fawn. I fussy cut the mug cup from also Lawn Fawn's new released paper. I made a slit and tucked the 3 strips of "specialty papers" for the rainbow. I also used Lawn Fawn papers for blue sky background and grasses. This "leprechaun" is actually gnome stamp from Lawn fawn, 10 years ago! It's the retired stamp but I saw someone made a "leprechaun " from the gnome stamp and I remembered I had a gnome stamp! And of course, I had a leprechaun hat. 😉 Inside, I wrote "Irish you are a lucky day with a big cup o'gold and delicious coffee!" lol

Mahalo for stopping by my blog today. Hope y'all are having a nice week! Hugs, Eve

Happy St. Patrick's Day! #1

Aloha,

This is my first St. Patty's day card this year. On Friday, I received my order from Lawn Fawn, the new release. I love this clover stencil set! I tried it as soon as I received, and really like it! This product is cleverly made. So, I don't need two different kinds of green ink. The way this stencil works is that you can use only one ink and get the two color result, in this case, green (original color) and darker green. I also purchased their new ink pad ~ Clover. I have several green ink pads from different companies but I wanted to try this green inkpad from LF. Every year, I make St. Patrick's day card. When I have a heavy heart, I tend to make a "clean" card. Right now, Russian is attacking Ukraine...😢 I love how this card turned out, though. The sentiment was heat embossed in gold on an old vellum from my "hoarded" collection. Again, when I get to use some piece from like 20 years ago, it makes me feel good 😊

Hope and pray the war will be over very soon before everything gets destroyed in Ukraine... 🙏

Have a great week! Love, Eve
