Happy Birthday!

Aloha~

My godmother's birthday is coming up. I made this card, thinking of the May birth flower~Lily of the Valley (from Hero Arts). I've known her for many many years but this is probably the first time to make a card with Lily of the Valley image, which I recently purchased.

I used Spellbinder's layering die, cutting from Lawn Fawn's paper, on the background. The sentiment is from Pink Fresh Studio. I used Honey Bee stamps pearl embellishments to finish it off.

Inside, the sentiment is from the same stamp set of Pink Fresh Studio. My godmother brings happiness to all people around her, so I used this sentiment.

Happy Mother's Day Eve! Hope you all will have a wonderful day tomorrow! I'll be thinking about my mom, looking at the pictures from my childhood tomorrow 💕 Love, Eve

Coffee card for March swap

Aloha~

I received these layering dies (scallop and stitched) from Poppy stamps as a freebie during Black Friday sale last year, and had been wanting to use them. The glitter paper is from Lawn Fawn. I used Newton's Nook Designs mug cup stencil, using white ink. Those little mug cups are from Simon Says Stamps. Since St. Patrick's day is near, I added those clovers, from Pretty Pink Posh. I usually place some kind of sentiment on the front but for this one, I decided not to.

Inside, I used the sentiment from Lil' inker designs.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Hope you are having a relaxed weekend. It's always something going on here in Honolulu and feels like no relaxing day, ever. lol 😅

Are you ready for wearing green tomorrow?! 💚 Love, Eve

Happy Valentine's Day #1

Aloha~

This is my first Valentine's day card this year.

I used Waffle Flower's "rose" postage stencil, Honey Bee Stamps "postcard" die, little stamps from old Altenew stamp set. I used Taylored Expression's heart dies, attaching onto Lawn Fawn's paper, after die cutting it with the large postage die.

January went by so fast! How about you? Love, Eve

Happy Birthday!

The birthday of my former boss is coming up next week. When I started to think about what kind of cards to make, Simon Says stamp came up with this stamp set~ Football Season! She loves college football as much as I do. The last time I talked to her was in April when the NFL draft started. Without hesitation, I ordered it right away! This stamp set is amazing, esp. if you love to watch football, and have many friends who love to watch football, college and NFL. So, what do you think of my card, the front and inside?

I used LF's paper, making "grass" (inking) on the bottom. I used these SSS stamps and colored with Copics. I adhered the front panel onto the Doodlebug design's football paper.
Inside was a little more complicated. I colored the helmet with her alma mater's color first. I used Tim Holtz alphabet dies for her school logo. The real design of the helmet is "warrior's head" (Trojan) but it was hard for me to make one. lol Instead, I used another logo USC uses, like on uniforms etc. on this helmet. "Fight On!" is their saying so I hand wrote in Uniball's gold pen. I used SSS "printed" sentiment, attached to the card stock which I colored in their school color, with Copics. I placed the whole panel onto the back of the football paper again.
I'm mailing this with this Oven mitt. I bet she will have a big smile when she opens the mail! We DO LOVE to watch football games, esp. NCAA.
Hope you are having a good weekend. Here in Honolulu, POKEMON world championship is being held. Yesterday, I saw so many tourists at the mall which is a couple of blocks away from the convention center where it's being held. Some of them are dressed up with their hats, t-shirts and carrying Pokemon's tote bag, so it's easy to spot them. lol Love, Eve

Hello~

I'd been wanting to use the "fruit" papers (esp. lemon) from LF and the mason jar dies from MFT stamps since last summer. Finally I got time to use them!

"hello" sentiment is from Hero Arts. I stacked up 3 times since I attached the bulky shaker parts next to it. This mason jar isn't the shaker dies but I managed to make it fine, I think...? 😊 Shaker bits are from Q&C and Hero Arts. Very summer-like, right? 😊

It's going to my godmother. 😊I wanted to use "Thinking of you" on the front but I didn't have the die which fits in the place instead of "hello", so I stamped that inside 😊

Have a nice evening! Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Stay hydrated! Love, Eve

Happy Birthday! #1

Well, there are more people who were born in this month. Glad I'm taking some time off from my card swap group.

I feel like I've been buying new stamps but time passes by and don't use it for a year (due to the half of them being the "seasonal" stamp sets) and use it a year later. lol... of course, I CAN use any stamps any time, I guess but the recipients might feel..hmmm?... esp. if they are NON card makers. We, the card makers CAN just say, O.K., "Halloween in AUGUST", like "Christmas in July" and nobody minds it! LOL!

I used mostly the LF stamp set, and their shimmery yellow card stock. I used the NND stencil for the background. The first sentiment stamp and most shell shaker bits are from Q&C. There are star shaker bits among the shell shaker bits. That's made of the packaging of my favorite beauty brand. I just keep those pretty parts (no logo nor any prints) of the packaging when I buy their skin care products. And, punch out using some punchers I have, to make shaker bits cuz I love making shaker cards. This one has star bits from "rose gold" packaging. They mostly come in gold, silver, black (shiny and matt) but I love this "rose gold" color. It's hard to tell from the photo but I used Stickles to give a little shimmer, here and there on the shells.

It seems like shaker cards with "whole front" covered is now a trend, and I decided to make the one with that trend. So, what did I use for my "plastic" pocket? I used the CLEAR "envelope" which became a trend, about 20 (?) years ago. Remember those? It became popular, us saying, let the USPS person to see the pretty art on its way. LOL! That was LONG BEFORE Pinterest nor Instagram were born, and RAK was one of the ways of getting inspired by! We did send tons of cards to fellow card makers! Since I lived in a remote place, I bought tons of those (including larger size and square size) and hardly ever used them! That trend didn't last long. I think it's because 1. card makers also wanted to "decorate" the envelopes their cards are mailed in, 2. cards often gets a little more bulky with embellishments and all these day. Anyways, I still have plenty of them! I had better use them while this kind of shaker cards are trendy! LOL

I decided to make a shaker card a little different. I completely shut the card base, and added the white panel for "writing", for a little twist. I die cut, using Spellbinders nesting die from very long time ago! I used the "Hawaii seal stamp" from Honey Bee Stamp's recent release.

Well, the Paris Olympics is now closed. Have a nice Sunday evening, everyone, and thank you for stopping by my blog today. Love, Eve

Happy Easter #2!

Aloha~

This is for my godmother. Most dies are from Honey Bee stamps. The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps. Pretty much self explanatory. Only the difficult part was to "attach small dies" from the set. It's hard to tell on this photo but I used "shimmery" white card stock for the clouds.

"My wish this Easter is for PEACE" for everyone, around the world! Hugs, Eve

Happy St. Patrick's day! #1

Aloha~

This is my first St. Patrick's day card this year. Although I bought this Shamrock die this year, having another idea, I ended up using St. Patrick's day stamp set from the past from the same company for this design. 😊I used LF's paper. I have started to wear greens! 💚

Hope you are having a nice weekend! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Love, Eve

Birthday card for Coffee card swap group #3

Aloha~ Happy MONDAY! ...or?! 😁

I mainly used Lawn Fawn's stamps for this card. The street stencil is from Pretty Pink Posh. I colored them with Copic markers. The stitch frame dies are MFT stamp's. It's pretty much self explanatory 😊

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Have a great week, everyone! Hugs, Eve

BOBA tea! for Coffee card swap, June

Aloha~

Boba tea has become so popular in the area I live. The recipient of this card doesn't live here but I remember she made a card with BOBA tea theme in the past, so she may like it, too. My most fav. place for Boba tea in my area is "The Alley". I believe its HQ is in southern CAL. Anyways, my fav. Boba tea flavors are Matcha and Ube. So, this is the card I made, getting inspired from the boba teas how they make. I think the recipient also loves "matcha".

I tried to make them look "realistic", and used "Glossy accent" on all bobas and straws, but unfortunately they don't "move" more freely for the shaker card... maybe next time, I won't use glossy accent.😅 Boba tea cups are from Mama Elephant, flower papers on the cups are from LF, and alphabet dies are from Sunny Studio stamps. I love their fonts and the size.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Hope y'all are having a nice weekend!

Love, Eve

Happy Valentine's Day!

Aloha~

This is the Valentine's/Galentine's day card I'm sending to my best friend from college.

I used Pretty Pink Posh hearts stencil, using Tonic Studio's Glimmer paste. I "fell in love again" with The Greetery's new release; mug cup and the sweater. I'd been wanting to find "my style" of sweater and this was it! Most companies have mug cup dies but this is the first time I saw the "heart shaped" one! This die set includes "marshmallows" so I made it to be a "hot chocolate" which we both love! The sentiment is from MFT Stamps and the stitching die is also from MFT Stamps. I heat embossed the sentiment. After I adhered everything, I noticed more open spaces in background, so I found different shapes of hearts in my die cut stash, so I attached those. Oh, for the sweater, I used the cable knit pattern paper from MFT Stamps, and white small polka dots paper from Lawn Fawn for the mug cup.

I was making another card but hard time, finishing it, so I started this card, and finished it fast. lol Sometimes that happens.

Have a nice week! Love, Eve

Coffee card, Oct.2022

Aloha~

My October "swap" coffee card was delayed due to my trip, and I finally made and mailed it early in November.

I fell in love with this stamp set as soon as it was introduced, back in September, but as soon as I received the set, I had to leave and no time for playing with it til I came home. What a beautiful set from The Greetery! And you all know that I always look forward to PSL season, so this was a must have and yes, this is the card I made!

I heat embossed the sentiment. I also used the Greetery's Coaster die, which I love. I used the papers from Lawn Fawn and Sunny Studio.

Well, my most fav. season went by so fast, esp. me travelling. Have a nice week! Not too cold nor too much of snow wherever you are, so that you can prepare for Christmas!! 🎄Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Love, Eve

Happy Thanksgiving! 2022

Aloha~

Ok, Thanksgiving day has come and gone. I've been quite busy, and, I forgot which website I used, to place "watermark" on my photos, and it took forever to find it! lol I've used other photo shop site for several years til they stopped, and I had to find another one. I did, but back in July and for the last couple of months, I didn't post anything, and I totally forgot the website! 😓Anyways, now, I found it, and I can post my "watermarked" photos! So, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day!

I made two cards this year, using the same technique but used different papers and colors. This big die and other extra dies are all from Hero Arts, their monthly kit of May, 2022. I liked the "white" all around, and water colored a little.

Now, I will not forget the website of placing watermark.😅

Hope you are having a nice weekend, probably, everyone is busy! Nearby mall was packed today! Thanks for visiting my blog today! Hugs, Eve

Happy Holiday ~ #2

Aloha~

Continuing to my yesterday's post, this is another Christmas card (tag) which I made to send it with a Christmas ornament I found at Hallmark store for my best friend.

The stamps are mostly from Unity stamp Co.. Although I still don't like the way we "store" those cling red rubber stamps, I love some of their stamps! Designs are awesome! Snowflakes are CTMH. 20 years later, I still have their stamps (and many other woodmounted red rubber stamps which still stamp great!). I used Lawn Fawn paper to layer the front card stock. I initially thought to "glue" the front panel to the background paper, like we usually do for our greeting cards, but I realized it's fun to NOT glue it, so it has actually a loose front! Sometimes you change the way you make cards as you make. On the back of this tag, I also stamped Christmas tree, and wrote some personal message.
And, the ornament I found for my best friend from college, she took a couple of pictures of it on her tree after she received it! When I saw this ornament at nearby Hallmark store in November, I thought of her, and I bought it. I wrote her name and my name on the back of this ornament in black sharpie with "2021".

Sometimes, it's fun to make different shapes from just a regular, two folded card.

Again, hope y'all had much better holiday season than I did. lol 😊

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Weekend is almost here! Love, Eve

"Coffee card swap" for September

I got this PSL idea at the end of August but I had too many "ideas" in my head... when that happens, it takes more time to finish the card. ... Anyways, this is the card! I love the font style of Sunny studio's alphabet dies. I "cut (!)" a sentiment stamp in half to get "'Tis the season for" only. I know I would be using this part a lot and this would be easier to ink and stamp. Pumpkin images are from Waffle flowers. Coffee cup dies are from Lil' inker designs. Papers are from Sunny studio and Pebbles. The base card stock is from Lawn Fawn, "canned pumpkin" color. Trying to match the "stitched" pumpkin images, I used MFT's stitched frame die for the card front. Glad that Lil'inker design's coffee sleeve die also has "stitching" to match!

Inside, the sentiment is from the same stamp set of Art Impressions. I attached the scrap paper from Sunny studio on the bottom.

I love PSL. Even I've lived in Tropical islands for many years, I still find PSL to be a comforting drink for me 😊 How about you?

Hope you are having a nice week! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Happy Easter #2!

 Aloha~

So, I "collected" these dies and finally could make a card! LOL Bird nest, chick dies, fence and gate dies are from Memory box, and bunny dies are IO. I recently saw someone used a colorful paper for the base, and I was inspired by that. You know, we all "hoard" pretty papers and not use them. .. 😅This card is "odd" size, too. After placing all the elements, I decided to make the card base as what you see, I'm not even sure the exact size. .. sometimes, I just cut little by little to make a card look better. I had to use a bigger size envelope, though. I used "cloud template" for making a background paper. I realized.. although I bought 2 more "clouds" stencils/templates, this one was my oldest, and it says 1997 by PrintWorks. There is a price tag on it; $2.79! Good Old days... lol I recently found a "stencil paper" at $1.50 shop and made a stencil for the grass, using MFT's grass field die. It's a thin paper x 2 in a package. I'm sure, though, I can use it several times at least! I only used, like 1/5 of this stencil paper, so I have plenty left to make more stencils! I found a branch stamp from Altenew stamp set, and stamped on the card front. I attached a gate die over the fence die to give a bit of dimension. Sentiment is heat embossed, and the strip is also attached with a foam tape to give a dimension. Oh I water colored the bird nest.

I painted "eggs" many years ago, and I display with Easter decorations every spring!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Hope your week is off to a great start! Hugs, Eve
