Happy Birthday! August #2

Aloha~

Updated on 9/8/'2025: This card was chosen by one of the designers of this challenge, and I received the badge! I placed it on the side bar of my blog. Yay!😊

Summer is always busy for me, and August is busy with birthday friends whom I plan to make cards for.

I bought this Newton & shell stamp set & paper pad as soon as it became available, but not I was only busy but I already had a particular recipient in mind~my former boss. She has a cat and she also lives in Hawaii, so this stamp set is PURR-fect! 😸

When I started to design, Newton's nook design's monthly challenge caught my eyes~sketch challenge. Since I have their papers, too, I decided to use this sketch. Come to think of it, the last time I joined the challenge, it was exact a year ago, and that was for Newton's nook designs, too, and used boba tea stamp set which back then, just came out. Just you know, though, when I say "just came out", it takes much longer to arrive here due to the location. Usually USPS takes a week to, sometimes, more than 3 weeks. 😑

Anyways, this is the card I made for her. I decided to use this sketch sideways. I think this challenge would've been much easier IF I had their newly released layout die but since I didn't get that one, I used My favorite things stitched frame die and cut it in the similar shape. I do like this sketch, though. Maybe I should get those dies from Newton's Nook Designs in the near future.... So, if you look closely, one and two sides of papers aren't stitched. ...I tried to color the kitty in my boss's kitty color but rather, failed..😓 At least, I tried... I used my recent favorite sentiment from Lawn Fawn. I used that for a birthday card I made, only last month. I used copics, esp. to give gradation in the sentiment, attached it with a thin foam tape.

She likes the puns, so I added more puns inside of the card. lol The larger font sentiment and paw stamps are from My favorite things and the smaller font sentiment is from Pink Fresh studio.

Oh so, I'm submitting this card to the August challenge. https://www.inkypawschallenge.com/

I wake up to the news that severe weather is still ramping up around the world. Please stay safe! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Love, Eve

Coffee themed card for July swap

Aloha~

This is the card I made for July swap. First I was inspired by Spellbinder's blog for new products. I often make a card for "Christmas in July", so it was perfect. But then, my "color combos" changed from red/green to "icy blue" after looking at the papers from Whimsy Stamps paper pad. Now, the recipient has a white kitty, I think. So, this is the card I came up with. For some years now, the stamp companies make great paper pads which I can't resist buying. lol...

This is what did, inside.

Severe weather continues... please take care of yourself. Stay safe! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Love, Eve

Happy Birthday!

Happy First Day of Spring! 💮

I'm sending this card to a birthday lady in my coffee card swap group.

I recently purchased the newly released stencil & die set from Waffle flower. This cupcake looked so yummy and wanted to use it right away. 😊I made a dozen die cuts with the cupcake images in different color combinations, and from there, I started to make a card. I often use color yellow for the cards I make for April. Her birthday is in the beginning of April. Here is the card I made.

I wanted to include a special sticker sheet and didn't wanna fold it, so I made a Slimline card. It fitted perfectly with my card.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment stamp from MFT, and added extras, using the stamps from Honey Bee stamps, the Greetery and Stampendous!

How's the first day of Spring look like in your area?
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Weekend is almost here! Love, Eve

Coffee card ~ February, 2025

Aloha,

This is for the Coffee themed card swap. I can make Tea themed and Hot Cocoa themed cards for this group. Since I've been hearing the frigid temperature across US mainland, I decided to make a Hot Cocoa card.

I use mug cup dies from The Greetery. Those smiley faces are from one of Lawn Fawn's stamp set. I'm not sure whether any of you are Lawn Fawn's fans but I am, ever since they opened the business. And they do make these cute face expression stamps in many of their stamp sets, so I chose the right size ones for these mug cups. On the lower part of these mug cups, I found this pink gingham washi tapes in my washi tapes stash and used it. The color matched perfectly! The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I attached it with 3D foam tape, to be able to attach the pink ribbon underneath of the sentiment. I used Newton's Nook Designs' stencils for the background.

Inside, I used 2 sentiment stamps from My Favorite Things.

Unfortunately we couldn't really enjoy cooler weather this "winter" here in Honolulu. First time, not being able to wear long sleeves to go to sleep at night...even the lowest temperature this week became above 70F...we are still in February...opposite from US mainland...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hear that flu is going around in US mainland. Keep warm, stay safe! Love, Eve

Coffee card swap December 2023

Aloha~

December has been really hard for my body due to my seasonal work. I even prefer a lie-down than sitting at home... but, I finished it and it's on its way to the recipient! Since she lives in west coast, hopefully this card will get to her before Christmas!

I really like my new background stamp from Taylored Expressions. I also like my Washi tape of plaid. I decided to use this washi tape to "make a background paper", used a coffee die from Poppy stamps to cut it out. Those "peppermint stickers" are from Doodlebug Design inc. The sentiment is from MFT stamps.

A week left for Christmas preparation, aka Christmas shopping. lol

Please take care of yourselves. Everyone around me seems that they are getting sick...🙏

Love, Eve

Happy Valentine's Day!

Aloha~

This is the Valentine's/Galentine's day card I'm sending to my best friend from college.

I used Pretty Pink Posh hearts stencil, using Tonic Studio's Glimmer paste. I "fell in love again" with The Greetery's new release; mug cup and the sweater. I'd been wanting to find "my style" of sweater and this was it! Most companies have mug cup dies but this is the first time I saw the "heart shaped" one! This die set includes "marshmallows" so I made it to be a "hot chocolate" which we both love! The sentiment is from MFT Stamps and the stitching die is also from MFT Stamps. I heat embossed the sentiment. After I adhered everything, I noticed more open spaces in background, so I found different shapes of hearts in my die cut stash, so I attached those. Oh, for the sweater, I used the cable knit pattern paper from MFT Stamps, and white small polka dots paper from Lawn Fawn for the mug cup.

I was making another card but hard time, finishing it, so I started this card, and finished it fast. lol Sometimes that happens.

Have a nice week! Love, Eve

Coffee card, Nov. 2022

Aloha~

I was a day late for the deadline to mail my swap card but I did, and this is my card. I really love this stamp set from MFT! Although I love living by the beach, fall and PSL always remind me of "woodland"! I water colored the oval die before placing those animals, holding hot coffee in the "sweater weather"! Then I attached tiny gingko stickers from Japan. The background paper is from Newton's Nook designs. I loved the sentiment stamp from Art Impressions.

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Now, time to start making Christmas cards! Hugs, Eve

Coffee card for July swap

Happy 4th of July!
Well, hope everyone had a great celebration, a week ago!

This is the card I made for the swap. I had this Stampendous! Uncle Sam's hat stamp for ages, and still love it! This "woodmounted" (grey) rubber stamp says "2000", manufacturing year. I probably bought it within 2 years time. Back then, I usually bought "newly released" stamps in like 2 years time. Not only the "online shopping" on internet wasn't common, like now, but also I lived in the US territory in the Pacific, far away from US mainland, so it took a while for some stamps to get to Guam. 20 years have passed so fast! Surprisingly, there were 3 places I could buy stamps beside Ben Franklin, SU! & CTMH!, on that tiny island back then!
Other stamps are from Essentials by Ellen & My Favorite Thing stamps. I added "stickers" for the words, and star brads. Star brads were too shiny so I smudged a little with brown color Copics. I did some doodling for steam and the table. I love when I make a card, using the "left over" "stickers" and "brads" from the LONG time past. 😊
Inside, I typed "For the BOLD and the Brave".
I got the inspiration from my calendar in front of my desk as soon as I turned the page to July.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday. Love, Eve

Happy PURR-THDAY!

Aloha~

I'd been away from home for a month, and I finally finished the birthday card I planned to make, for my godmother. I don't like to purchase a kit in general but I loved the theme~cat. lol So I purchased it as soon as this became available. I don't do interactive cards much but I love making "shaker" cards ever since! 😊 My godmother once had a orange tabby cat, and she is my most fav. kind of kitty, so I made this kitty cat a orange tabby cat.😸 I used the sentiment from a kitty stamp set from MFT (old one). The heart balloon is Paper Smooches'. I used the stitch dies for the base and the layered card stock.

Hope you are having a nice weekend! Finally better weather, here in Hawaii! Hugs, Eve

Coffee card for October swap

Aloha~

This is the "coffee card" for the October swap.

I already had this idea when I was making last month's swap card, it didn't take that long to finish it. Only the problem I had was to make a slimline card and have a die cut on the front panel because I only have a regular size die cut machine. So, I had to make the front first and attached it to the card base. Since I decided to do so, I used another color/kind of card stock for the base. But I also didn't want the color of card base to show from the "windows", I attached lighter color card stock for those "windows" first. So basically I have 3 layers for the front of the card, with the look of the one layer. lol. I wanted the tone on tone for the front and I used my NEW versa mark ink! Oh boy, I had my versa mark ink pad for over 20 years (since they first introduced!), and have been reinking it but I just thought it was the time to buy a new pad, and I'm glad I did! Sometimes, just buy a new tool, even the one you have isn't broken, you can tell "new" tool (this case, new ink pad) would do a better job! 😊 Those leaf stamps are from Concord & 9th. The actual leaf die cuts are from Lawn Fawn. As I mentioned in my last blog post, I used "Tis the season for" again. Those cute moose and a fox with coffee cups are from MFT. Oh, and that little pumpkin which I fussy cut was one of the images I had for maybe 20 years...? and I believe it's from CTMH.

Inside, I stamped MFT's pumpkin, and stamped the Art Impression's sentiment over it.

I love when I finish the card with the idea in my head, Quick! lol

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Tomorrow is "World Card Making Day" but I'll be working...😑 Hope you can enjoy the day of card making tomorrow!

Butterflies...

Aloha~

As soon as MFT released this butterfly stamp set, I had to order. I have seen many butterfly stamps in the past and own some but these butterflies...they reminded me of my childhood. There was a cabbage field near my parents house where I grew up. Every spring, I saw many, 'this' butterflies! My mom told me that because cabbage was very nutritious, they lived there,  ate the vegetable, and became butterflies. For mom, it was a good teaching to her child to "eat cabbage". To this day, I buy and eat a cabbage as often as I can. Here in Hawaii, they sell many Bento box. They even embed the shredded cabbage underneath of other food, like fried fish.

I also fell in love with this 6x 6 "Team Tie-dye" paper pack from Honey Bees. I can make these background with watercolor mediums but I bought this for mostly alcohol ink background paper in the pack. I love to work with water color mediums but not so much with alcohol inks.  This paper pack is full of alcohol ink background papers and they are lovely! But funny that my first card I made, I used "water color" background paper. lol! Apparently I love "water coloring"!😊 I stamped 3 different size butterflies of the kind I used to see when I was a kid, heat embossed one in white embossing powder and another in silver pearl, both from WOW!. And this is my first MINI slim line card. The card size is 3.25" x 6.25". According to the google, the size of mini slime line card can be varied a little... I love the simplicity of these cards, yet, pretty, in my opinion, thanks to the beautiful butterfly design and beautiful paper! 🦋🦋🦋

Unfortunately the smallest butterfly flew away... can't find it anymore... 😓

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Hope your new week and new month have started out well. 😊 Love, Eve

Coffee card for December, 2020

Aloha~

This is the card I made for December swap for the "Coffee card" group I belong to. The card is rather simple, although coloring all the coffee cups and little "steam" stampings and hand dotting on the card took a little time. I did this on craft paper. While I was making this background paper, I really liked how it turned out, I took a picture before making it into a card. For December swap, we usually enclose gifts, and I enclosed some Hawaiian coffee, Hawaiian tea & "Breakfast" post it which had "take out coffee cup" design. The last picture is "inside of the card".

Hope y'all are having a nice weekend! Hugs, Eve

Coffee Card Swap February 2019

The coldest month of the year has arrived, even here in Hawaii. Lower 60F isn't acceptable! 😅... anyways, still the time for Hot chocolate & fire place but here in Hawaii, only hot chocolate 😊
Hope this card brings the warm feeling to the recipient 😊

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Hope y'all are having a nice week despite of the cold weather.
