Happy Birthday!

Happy First Day of Spring! 💮

I'm sending this card to a birthday lady in my coffee card swap group.

I recently purchased the newly released stencil & die set from Waffle flower. This cupcake looked so yummy and wanted to use it right away. 😊I made a dozen die cuts with the cupcake images in different color combinations, and from there, I started to make a card. I often use color yellow for the cards I make for April. Her birthday is in the beginning of April. Here is the card I made.

I wanted to include a special sticker sheet and didn't wanna fold it, so I made a Slimline card. It fitted perfectly with my card.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment stamp from MFT, and added extras, using the stamps from Honey Bee stamps, the Greetery and Stampendous!

How's the first day of Spring look like in your area?
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Weekend is almost here! Love, Eve

Coffee Card for Sept.2024

Aloha, I'm back on the list of Coffee card swap.

Here is my card. Now, I'm addicted to this cross stitch thingy. Once upon a time, I cross stitched A LOT, sometimes 8 hours a day, as if it was my job! LOL Back then, of course, I did very detailed, and large cross stitch patterns, like 28, 32 and even on 36 on linen. I hadn't cross stitched for, liked 2 decades? and Lawn Fawn released these stitch dies. These are much easier to complete, like this one, in 50 mins. while I watched the rerun of NCIS. I have many flosses left from like 20 years ago, so I used the ones I had. You'll see more of these cross stitched pieces on my cards for this fall and winter. I've already finished a couple of them for Halloween and Christmas! LOL Again, I used several different company's products; Lawn Fawn, Sunny Studio, Honey Bee Stamps, and The Greetery.

This is the inside of the card.

This weekend arrived early, thanks to the long weekend in US!

Please stay safe from the heat in the areas with Heat warning, like Arizona and California.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Love, Eve

Halloween cards

Aloha~

I made a couple of Halloween cards, using Whimsy Stamps papers. When they released this paper pad, I had to have it! 😄I made these cards, making those papers as a focal point, finishing them with some dies and sentiments.

I used dies from Lawn Fawn, Tim Holtz/Sizzix, and some papers from Honey Bee stamps.

Inside, I used a ghost die from Memory box. It's hard to see but I used "shimmer" paper to die cut the ghost. I die cut the little Frankenstein from a Poppy Stamps' die. I also purchased "Halloween sentiments (already being printed out on a white card stock)" from Simon Says Stamps this year. There are so many sentiments in the package, and I cut the appropriate ones to the cards I made, attached them randomly.

I had hard time, photographing the card below, in the right color. In person, the whole card is rather darker and vivid. I used Lawn Fawn dies, Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies and Honey Bee Stamps paper, as well as those sentiments strips from Simon Says Stamps, and colored them a little.
Inside shows more "true" color of card stock. lol... "boo" is from My Favorite Stamps.
Only 2 weeks to Halloween...

Mahalo for stopping by my blog today. Have a nice day! Love, Eve

Birthday card for Coffee card swap group member

Aloha~

This is the card I made for a member of Coffee card swap group I belong to.
It was fun to make because I used this and that from different things and brands. I finally received Honeybee stamps paper pad after waiting for the notification coming through. It's a beautiful paper pad! Although you all know I love the ocean and beach, I also love animals and "in the woods and forest" related products, to make my cards, and this was one of them. I used Cabin die and birthday beaver stamp (which was a freebie from Lawn Fawn for my birthday month). I thought a lot about what to place in the windows and behind the "open door" area. That's when I came up with the idea after unable to find such small stamps for coffee. Yes, I had this Washi tape from nearby Japanese "dollar store", although it's not a dollar and now with the inflation, it's" $1.75 store", but I found this Washi tape a couple of years ago. They fitted pretty well, don't you agree? 😀I had a couple of choices behind the door, and chose the fox, cutting from my collection of "hoarded papers for years", so I'm not sure about its brand. lol I probably found it at Jo Anne over 10 years ago, I think... also "cafe" sign is a part of the same Washi tape I used for windows. Can you see the little "steam" from the chimney? I found the perfect size from one of the Newton's Nook Design stamp set. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I love the front on this card, using different things from different brands and different times.

Oh by the way, not card related, but I found this at Macys recently, at their newly decorate floor for Christmas in Home department. I'm a "PSL" person! lol I had to get this ornament.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Hope you will have a great week! "Autumn" has started! 🍂 Love, Eve

Butterflies...

Aloha~

As soon as MFT released this butterfly stamp set, I had to order. I have seen many butterfly stamps in the past and own some but these butterflies...they reminded me of my childhood. There was a cabbage field near my parents house where I grew up. Every spring, I saw many, 'this' butterflies! My mom told me that because cabbage was very nutritious, they lived there,  ate the vegetable, and became butterflies. For mom, it was a good teaching to her child to "eat cabbage". To this day, I buy and eat a cabbage as often as I can. Here in Hawaii, they sell many Bento box. They even embed the shredded cabbage underneath of other food, like fried fish.

I also fell in love with this 6x 6 "Team Tie-dye" paper pack from Honey Bees. I can make these background with watercolor mediums but I bought this for mostly alcohol ink background paper in the pack. I love to work with water color mediums but not so much with alcohol inks.  This paper pack is full of alcohol ink background papers and they are lovely! But funny that my first card I made, I used "water color" background paper. lol! Apparently I love "water coloring"!😊 I stamped 3 different size butterflies of the kind I used to see when I was a kid, heat embossed one in white embossing powder and another in silver pearl, both from WOW!. And this is my first MINI slim line card. The card size is 3.25" x 6.25". According to the google, the size of mini slime line card can be varied a little... I love the simplicity of these cards, yet, pretty, in my opinion, thanks to the beautiful butterfly design and beautiful paper! 🦋🦋🦋

Unfortunately the smallest butterfly flew away... can't find it anymore... 😓

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Hope your new week and new month have started out well. 😊 Love, Eve
