Coffee card January 2023 swap!

Happy New Year! A little late for the greeting but it's my first post in 2023!

I used my newly purchased stamp sets, both from Gina K Designs! Most of you know that I hate cold weather, and I tend to make cards which doesn't have "winter" theme much...But I really liked these sets, and after coloring, I like them even more! 😍

I did some ink blending for background scene. I splattered white watercolor paint to make a snowy scene in the end. For the front, it's hard to tell but I found this shiny white paper in my stash, to die cut the snow drifts, using Honey Bee Stamps die. I stamped snowmen and mug cup all in black first, but after placing them on the scene, I didn't like it, and changed the color to light grey to stamp snowmen and brown to stamp mug cups, and I love how they turned out, after coloring with Copics. I decided to make the winter scene card because the recipient lives in Florida. We don't see this scenery in our daily lives.😄

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope you are having a relaxing long weekend! In some areas, I watched on the news about horrible weather... Stay safe!  Love, Eve

Coffee card for December, 2020

Aloha~

This is the card I made for December swap for the "Coffee card" group I belong to. The card is rather simple, although coloring all the coffee cups and little "steam" stampings and hand dotting on the card took a little time. I did this on craft paper. While I was making this background paper, I really liked how it turned out, I took a picture before making it into a card. For December swap, we usually enclose gifts, and I enclosed some Hawaiian coffee, Hawaiian tea & "Breakfast" post it which had "take out coffee cup" design. The last picture is "inside of the card".

Hope y'all are having a nice weekend! Hugs, Eve

Coffee card swap for January, 2020

Happy New Year, friends!!

Now, I'm finally catching up to post my cards! 👍
This is my coffee card for this month! Actually Hot Chocolate card 😉

This is a good combination of things I got in last two years. Girl's stamp set is from Concord & 9th. I received "Tintables card pack" which is the watercolor papers with pre-printed white designs, as freebies. I simply water colored the background paper. I used Lawn Fawn papers from last year (2018) to die cut the gloves & hat, using Sunny Studio dies which I purchased in 2018. The sentiment is MFT.

The recipient is in Michigan, so probably it looks like this there now.. It's been a warm winter, and here in Oahu, you don't see this scene but in another island of Hawaii where there are high mountains, I heard that they had their first snow some weeks ago.. today's high was 79F 😉

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

2017 Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop #3

Update : Well, I missed the link up time by probably, 1 min.! So you can't find this card in the blog hop list..lol... I designed a card, using this stamp from Honey Bee ("Tea Time") for sure, but as I moved along, my head started to shift and ended up something totally different from what I initially designed! And that's why it took forever to finish this card, and mised the deadline... oh well... at least, I celebrated "international Tea Day", while making this card! 😊

It was really hard to take a picture to show the simmer on the steam, snow bank, sequins, and even the snow on the trees. It's more shimmery in person. The front panel was lifted by a piece of white craft foam underneath. In window shills, you can see "white" (craft foam) but I did it on purpose. Now it looks like the accumulated snow on the each window shills outside. I used Tim Holtz stencil to make a paper, and paperpieced it for this teacup. This is my newest addition to my stamp collection, and I really like this MUG type tea cup after years of using 'traditional fancy tea cups" on my tea cards! When I live in the place where there is a cold winter, this is the type of mug cup for tea to warm myself up, after getting up in the morning. Those fancy cups are for Tea Time for me 😊
Tea cup ~ Honey Bee (Tea Time)
Trees ~ Inkadinkado
Sentiment ~ Lawn Fawn
Window die & border stitch die ~ My Favorite Things
Snow bank stitched die ~ Lawn Fawn
Steam die ~ Lil' Inker Designs
Kitty die ~ Impression Obsession

It was a very fun blog hop! Almost 1,000 entries for the blog in one week!

I'm submitting this card to SSS ~ Monday Challenge (Christmas/Winter holidays) & SSS ~ Wednesday Challenge (Stitch it!)

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Hope y'all are having a nice weekend!

2017 Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop #2

National cocoa day celebration took place under Coffee Lover's blog hop, and it was on the 13th. I finished this card a day and half later. lol, but I couldn't pass the opportunity to "honor" the National Cocoa day! Although I currently live on a tropical island, the average temp.of 83F all year around, when "winter" comes (meaning, December!), my head tells me to drink hot cocoa! And of course, at the grocery store, they ship those (seasonal food and drinks) from US mainland, according to the calendar, NOT the temperature! Just like October to November, we see pumpkins in the grocery store, and this island doesn't produce pumpkins at all! lol!
Anyways, this is my card. Since I still needed to make more Christmas cards, I combined the hot cocoa with the Christmas theme. Inside, it says "for a happy holiday"! I imaged the ornament, hanging in the Christmas tree but I didn't have pine needles die, so I used the closest image die I had. Rather a simple card, but "faux stitching" both inside of oval shaped paper & rectangular paper give some interest on the card 😊 Entry #843!

Hot cocoa & the sentiment ~ Lawn Fawn
Wonky oval die, Stitched rectangular die (from Blue Print #20), the handle die of the ornament (from Tag builder Blue Print #6) , Leaf die ~ My Favorite Things
Papers ~ Lawn Fawn

One more day for the hop, and the last day will be celebrating International TEA day!

Thank you for stopping by my blog in your busy days. Only 10 more days to Christmas! 🎄
Have a nice weekend!

Happy Holidays!

I signed up for Christmas card swap in Altenew fan group on FB. We have to use Altenew stamp as the main image. These are the cards I made. I made 4 cards (2 card swap partners in US, 2 in Europe), 2 little different scenes; one looked like having an icy cold but sunny day, and another one looked like having snow flurry. Sizes are a bit different, too. I often make a card, thinking as I make, and sometimes my cards get larger than regular 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch size, and sometimes, longer shape, or even smaller. lol

An icy cold but sunny day... the picture doesn't show it well but to get that "icy" feeling, I sprayed the shimmer mist on the background.

For a snow flurry day, no shimmer mist but used white gel pen to add snow flurries...
I love cardinals, and I miss seeing them in the wild. The tropical island I currently reside don't have many birds, thanks to the brown tree snakes, I hear.. but never miss the cold winter. ..

I realized that Snowy Winter already arrived at unusual places across the States, like San Antonio, TX, Clemson, SC...

I'm submitting this to SimonSaysStamp Monday Challenge ~ Christmas/Winter holiday

Hope y'all are having a nice week! Christmas is coming.. very soon!

"belated" Happy New Year ~ 2017!

Caught up with uploading my 1st card this year ~ 2017. :)

I used all stamps and a die from Lawn Fawn. I also tore a grey CS, after embossing with the clear shimmer EP, by hand.

I just saw someone's posting a lot of snow STILL, but in Canada. ;)

Hope you all are enjoying a beautiful spring day, wherever you are!

"Snow Much Fun!"

ok, I never think so but the challenge calls for that, and I love to watch Ice Hockey games, so here is my take on the challenge at Creative Inspirations. I made this card to my House Mouse Online buddy who also loves to watch sports, incld. NHL, like me! :) That's the only time I WOULD go to the COLDER place, EAGERLY! lol!
Three mice on the front and a puck were cut from the 2nd stamped image, layered them for more dimention. Yes, those "wooden" hockey sticks were even thinner than the tails of mice, and I almost cut them off! lol! I used yellow stickles for the fire. I distressed the edges of the main panel. Since I wanted this to be a Christmas card to her, I added the tree, being decorated with stars and tinsels (I wrapped the tree with tinsel), used foam tape for more dimention.
Hope you are having "Snow Much Fun" wherever you are at, while I'm having "SUN Much FUN" at the beach! lol ;-) Thank you for stopping by my blog today :-)

Simon Says... Animal Antics!

well, I made this card to my HM online friend, Sue S. but also Simon Says challenge in mind. This week's challenge is "Animal antics"! I luv Roasting Marshmallows, and I foud this stamp funny, not our mice roasting marshmallows but rather, "someone" is "stealing" their marshmallows on the bowl! :-) Since the stamp image is large, I made this card a bit large too, and since not much to do on the image itself other than coloring, I decorated some around the image. I luv Baker's Twine!

Lawnscaping Challege #1!

I made this card for new Lawnscaping Challenge. Everybody knows that I never liked Winter but when I saw this stamp in a set called Winter Critter (by Lawn Fawn), I had to have it! LOL! They are sooo cute! After the whole month of December (except 30th & 31st), the ground being covered by WHITE stuff & teens to 20Fs temperature, I really didn't want to make any WHITE card, but the challenge calls for "All About Snow"!! so, after a while of consideration, I made this card. I luv this Bear stamp! This is a Tent Card. This year, i plan to make more 3D shape cards than regular 2 folded card. I drew many dots with quick glue pen around the sentiment, and added glitter. Well, this is my First Post in 2011. Sorry that I'd been rather quiet. I'd been trying to catch up with many things I neglected to do in last 2 weeks after Christmas. Wishing you all the happiness in 2011!! :-)

EIC 116 #1

This week's challenge at Etsy Inspired is from the shop of Heartsong. I made 2 cards for this week's challenge. This is #1. The pic./product i was inspired by in Heatsong shop is below my card's picture. This deer stamp is from Lawn Fawn. The snow flakes & sentiment is from the same stamp set. I used a piece of yarn on the deer's neck, which Lawn Fawn wrapped my purchase with :-) (thank you!) I like to keep those little embellishments from all kind of things, packages, etc. I put glossy acccet on the deer's nose. I used Souffle pen on the stamped snowflakes, to give a bit of character. I drew the deer's footprints on the snow, using a marker. I used pop up dots for the deer, to give a bit of depth to the card.

Simon says...

"Let it snow!" That's the challenge at Simon Says Challenge this week... again, this isn't what i want to say, but the challenge is called for it... and i made it... lol... yes, we already had our first snow, but it was a very light snow, very early in the morning, and dissappeared like sands... This HM image is just like here in western PA... still see the leaves & had a little bit of snow... I put Glitters in the center of all snowflakes but it doesn't show on this pic. much... and also on those dotted lines. The sentiment is from Mary Engelbreit ink. I've also drawn the veins of the leaves in copper color gel pen. That doesn't show much either. So, in person, this card looks much more shimmery! lol :-)

Penny Black Sat.challenge wk126

ok, another Difficult one for me..."LET IT SNOW" challenge...but i found a very old Penny Black stamp in my collection - snowmen! :-) It is a long stamp, and i barely fit it in the regular size CS. I sometimes use partially if the stamp is long or big but this one, it was rather impossible to trim the stamped image cuz all snowmen's hands were stretched out to the next snowman! lol! I colored the snowmen with Le Plume markers, added fun flocks & glitter here and there. I used cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder, petit oval nesties (added with 3D dots for the sentiment), and i WROTE "let it snow", using sakura quick glue pen, poured glitters on the letterings. ...still Denying this sentiment...lol...

Simon says... are you all WHITE??

that's the challenge this week, and again, i finally finished it...it's due tonight... I made this card, BUT i really don't like making a card, thinking? SNOW... I can make BEACH/summer cards all year around but NOT the one with the snow... i can do christmas cards, in SUMMER/warmer weather, NOT with the snow... My first warm christmas was back in college time, in Key West, FL. Then Sydney, Australia, and Guam & Hawaii. I have many years of Christmas withOUT snow! lol! anyways, i need to make a card with white so, i thought of SNOW or wedding, and i chose snow... This House mouse image actually has christmas lights over the igloo but i didn't ink those parts, cuz my card had to be all WHITE (or as white as it can be!). So, i HAD to hide the parts i didn't ink, on the igloo with the snowflake punches, with 3D glue dots :-) I used 2 cuttlebug folders. I painted parts of the raised snowflake images with perfect pearls, mixed with water. I also used glitter glue. The light is coming out from the inside of igloo cuz the mice has a little gas heater inside of the igloo, to keep themselves a bit warm! ;-) I wish i could've taken this pic. while sun was still out by the window, but no time. It gets dark outside early these days... so i had to take a pic. with the flash with the regular room light... I also tried to find other sentiiments to go with this image, other than "let it snow" which i really didn't want to use (or say) but surprisingly, there are not many short sayings with snow images...If you can think of other great "short" sentiments, which can go with the snow image, please let me know! :-)
