Easter & Coffee combined card for March card swap!

Aloha~

I had the same paper from Newton's Nook Designs, and wanted to use it! I just love this paper (and the whole pad!). Sometimes the designer's papers are so pretty and you don't have to do too much on it, to make a card. This paper is definitely one of them!

I made sure there was a GOLDEN EGG on this card and the1st Easter card πŸ˜‰I like to use organza ribbons on Spring cards. 😊

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Have a nice weekend! Love, Eve

Happy Easter! #1

Aloha~

This is my 1st Easter card for this spring. I really loved this Newton's Nook Designs paper and wanted to use it last spring but never had a chance. I'm happy that I could use it this spring! Bunny is also from Newton's Nook Designs. The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps, eggs are from Memory box and layering pinking die is from Waffle Flowers. After I received this layering die sets, I noticed it looked like the sun. I really like this die set!

Easter is almost here. How many Easter cards have you made this year?

Everyday I check the weather forecast in US mainland, and see some crazy weather still continues ... please stay safe!

Halloween cards

Aloha~

I made a couple of Halloween cards, using Whimsy Stamps papers. When they released this paper pad, I had to have it! πŸ˜„I made these cards, making those papers as a focal point, finishing them with some dies and sentiments.

I used dies from Lawn Fawn, Tim Holtz/Sizzix, and some papers from Honey Bee stamps.

Inside, I used a ghost die from Memory box. It's hard to see but I used "shimmer" paper to die cut the ghost. I die cut the little Frankenstein from a Poppy Stamps' die. I also purchased "Halloween sentiments (already being printed out on a white card stock)" from Simon Says Stamps this year. There are so many sentiments in the package, and I cut the appropriate ones to the cards I made, attached them randomly.

I had hard time, photographing the card below, in the right color. In person, the whole card is rather darker and vivid. I used Lawn Fawn dies, Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies and Honey Bee Stamps paper, as well as those sentiments strips from Simon Says Stamps, and colored them a little.
Inside shows more "true" color of card stock. lol... "boo" is from My Favorite Stamps.
Only 2 weeks to Halloween...

Mahalo for stopping by my blog today. Have a nice day! Love, Eve

Happy Easter! 2 cards

I made 2 Easter cards. It took me a while to come up with the ideas but finally finished and mailed them yesterday.

I used Simon Says stamp Egg shaped die to cut one of Lawn Fawn's paper with the sun beam. I stamped the sentiment from Poppy stamps and heat embossed in gold. I attached the lily brad from my very OLD stash so I don't know who made it. lol...I attached "the egg" to Tim Holtz woodgrain white card stock. I attached the watering can die cut from Memory Box. I die cut bunnies using Lawn Fawn's dies and little eggs using Memory box. To finished it off, I attached butterflies using Lawn Fawn's dies & shimmer paper.

Inside, I stamped sentiments from Poppy Stamps stamp set. Since I couldn't finish the card earlier, I made it for "spring" greeting, too. πŸ˜…These aren't getting to the destinations before Easter... Oh, so, I used Memory box little egg die to cut out "the Golden Easter Egg"! The picture doesn't show it well but it's an "gold" egg. 😊 The last picture shows "gold" a little better.

I also made another card, which is similar to the first card. I used different card stock, and little bunnies are die cut using IO dies. Inside is the same, with "the Golden Easter Egg"!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Happy Easter! Love, Eve

Coffee card swap for May 2021

 Aloha~

Well, this card may looks familiar to some of you.. Yes, I was inspired by the USPS's newly released stamps (last month)! I was making a different card for this recipient, but I got stuck with the idea of finishing that card after coloring the design. So I took a break from making the card, and started to think of what I would write inside, and I remembered that this recipient was asking for these postage stamps cuz she didn't live in US. So I grabbed the stamps to enclose, and it hit me. I would make a card, being inspired by these stamps! I have more ideas from being inspired by these postage stamps but this is my first! What do you think?

This is the "inspiration" πŸ˜€

I always loved collecting postage stamps, so I have bought a couple of "postage stamp shape" die sets, but haven't really used them before.. I'm happy I could use them! Since this is a slim line card, my huge collection of 6 x 6 pretty background paper wouldn't work, and went through my much smaller stash of larger designer's papers. Well, I found this. I think I had this paper for like 20 years!! LOL! I think the colors and design matched the most among all the larger papers I had. If I didn't find the match, I didn't mind, making one but I like how this paper worked out for this card. 😊 I used the foam tape for the sentiment on the top but used 5 die cut background card stock under "Coffee" sentiment, because it was easier than using foam tape for curved shape, not to mention I couldn't decide which color would be the best for dark brown "coffee" sentiment on top, at first, so I die cut 5 different colored card stock.lol They became in handy! 😊

"Inspiration" is everywhere! Thank you for stopping by my blog today!
Hope your week has started great! Love, Eve

Happy Easter #2!

 Aloha~

So, I "collected" these dies and finally could make a card! LOL Bird nest, chick dies, fence and gate dies are from Memory box, and bunny dies are IO. I recently saw someone used a colorful paper for the base, and I was inspired by that. You know, we all "hoard" pretty papers and not use them. .. πŸ˜…This card is "odd" size, too. After placing all the elements, I decided to make the card base as what you see, I'm not even sure the exact size. .. sometimes, I just cut little by little to make a card look better. I had to use a bigger size envelope, though. I used "cloud template" for making a background paper. I realized.. although I bought 2 more "clouds" stencils/templates, this one was my oldest, and it says 1997 by PrintWorks. There is a price tag on it; $2.79! Good Old days... lol I recently found a "stencil paper" at $1.50 shop and made a stencil for the grass, using MFT's grass field die. It's a thin paper x 2 in a package. I'm sure, though, I can use it several times at least! I only used, like 1/5 of this stencil paper, so I have plenty left to make more stencils! I found a branch stamp from Altenew stamp set, and stamped on the card front. I attached a gate die over the fence die to give a bit of dimension. Sentiment is heat embossed, and the strip is also attached with a foam tape to give a dimension. Oh I water colored the bird nest.

I painted "eggs" many years ago, and I display with Easter decorations every spring!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Hope your week is off to a great start! Hugs, Eve

Birthday, Easter, Coffee, all combined card! :)

 Aloha~

A card making friend's birthday is coming up and it falls exactly on Easter Sunday, so, I decided to make a card, combining, birthday, Easter and "coffee" since she is the admin.of "coffee" card swap group on FB. I think I combined them in one card pretty good, don't ya think...? πŸ˜‰ This is also my first Slimline card which is trending lately in card making industry. I even made an envelope to fit this long card, using a designer's one sided paper which was one of "hoarded for so long papers" stash! lol I've been making cards for like 30 years and have ended up to "have/hoard" many papers! lol I bet some of you can relate...?! Now I'm eager to make more envelopes for slim cards! lol

The hardest part was to secure the very thin gold threads. I had to think first.. I decided to tie through the parts of the nest, pulled a little, put the liquid glue, to secure them first. Then, attached balloon over them, again, using strong adhesive. I used Lawn Fawn's glitter papers. I used Lawn Fawn's papers on the background; sun beams and grass field. I hope this card will reach the recipient in Europe without any damage, and will make her smile, with lots of "coffee" on this card! πŸ˜„

Hope y'all are having a relaxing Sunday! Hugs, Eve

another SHAKER card!

ok, this is my 3rd Shaker card this month! lol! After us, the house mouse group members have decided to have a Shaker card Swap this month, I've already made two, and at last, I made this card for the swap, and it's in the mail to the recipient :-) I made the INSIDE of the card first. This month, due to the warm weather at the east coast of US, Cherry Blossoms have started to bloom early in D.C. And this year is their 100th celebration after they received trees from Japan as a gift. Everytime I see cherry blossoms in D.C. in pictures, I remember my childhood when I was living in Tokyo, Japan. Cherry Blossoms to me are not only the symbol of spring but also "APRIL"! lol! "April" in Japan is the start of school year when many kids carry their Brand New leather bags, with their new textbooks & new school supplies, IF you are the first grader and 7th grader, and because of leather, they look so new! :-) The same can be said for many new employees, after they graduate from universities in March, and Japanese companies, schools, etc. hire certain number of newly graduates, and they wear New Suit, incld. usually new leather shoes, and they also look so fresh! :-) To me, those are the SET incld.cherry blossoms, in early April, every year. I love cherry blossoms! I used old hero arts' Inches (I think they don't call that stamp that. lol) of cherry blossoms, randomly stamped to make a frame so that I can write something in "that frame". I happened to have a left over rick rack in matching color so I adhered it and I trimmed another house mouse stamp image (the mouse carrying the jelly beans) and adhere it in the end of the rick rack. I used sakura glaze pen for jelly beans, and just used the matching color for the card; Pink only. On the front page, I used Posh Impression's cherry blossoms stamp, using markers to ink it. The sentiment stamp is Memory box. I adhered the left over cherry blossoms stickers (I believe it's Jolee''s, but am not sure without the packaging...) on the corners. I'm submitting this to Simon says stamp challenge ; "Anything goes" :-)
Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today. Although Guam (where I am right now) doesn't have cherry blossoms, hope some of you see beautiful cherry blossoms in your neighborhood :-)

"masculine" Birthday Card with 4 meanings in it!

This card has 4 meanings. First, the recipient loves Hockey. The snoopy ice hockey player stamp comes with the puck in a design, and I inked that puck only, many times, to make this "frame". Ice hockey skates is from Jolee's. I attached it with dimentional foam but also attached the baker's twine, to look like it's "hanging". Secondly, the color combination of black & gold is Pittsburgh Penguins' Color and black & gold (more like Yellow) is also Steeler's color. I bought this background paper, black with yellow random spot. The seconcd pic. shows the inside of this card. The recipient always wants to claim "he is the KING", and I found this image of crown & the sentiment in my CD, so I printed it out, added the gold pearls, traced the image of "KING" with Golden gel pen. I used the nesties to cut the gold color CS, layered it under the printed out white CS. Well, that's the 3rd meaning on this card for this recipient. Adding this "Penguin" cheerleader with pom pom in gold is the final touch to the card for "Pittsburgh PENGUINS" fan! LOL! I luv this card! LOL!
