Happy World Card Making Day 2017!

Yesterday was World Card Making day, and one of my fav. brands gave us four challenges. I finished the second challenge, which is to use their dies only, no stamping; MFT Die-namics designs.  Some months ago, I bought their Blue Print die set #20. It's amazing. I used to sew a lot, and found the "quilt printed" paper in my stash. This paper must be from over 10 years ago.. The camera doesn't catch the color of the heart which looks like silver, in the middle, but it's "dull gold".. I kept it from the package of something. hahaha. I often do, to cut out the beautiful part of packaging, keeping them in my stash. 😊 I placed the larger heart cut out from vellum underneath. I found a left over yarn from years ago, too. Recently I've been organizing my craft supplies, and finding so many things from "years ago", which I can use on my cards. 😊

Hope everyone had a great day, making a card or two 😉

Group's Swap Card~White & another color

I made this card for February swap in the house mouse group I belong to. I luv RED and I found the Perfect image! I always wear Red Lipgloss when I go out at night. So this little mouse is "me"! lol :-) I cut the little mouse with the lipstick & the case from another stamped image and layered them to give some dimention :-) Everything else is pretty much self-explanatory. oh, we could use the natural colors for our mice.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Hope you all are having a great day! :-)

Sorry for not posting sooner...

http://video.penguins.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=912&id=136974

It's been more than 6 weeks I hadn't post anything on my blog. Some of you may know that my life got really busy with unexpected turns. I've found some time to stamp meanwhile but I'm in a different location now, and not only I don't have full tools & stamps, but also, I haven't found the right location for taking good pictures (with lighting and all). And today, I wanted to post Something else other than the card because I was very happy yesterday! Many of you know that I luv to watch Football, mostly, COLLEGE!, esp. My College!! I kind of lost any interest in Pros' after Dan Marino retired from Miami dolphins, and ever since, I watch NFL, with the teams I luv my fav. Players are playing for, just because I luv to watch their Awesome Plays! There are more I can talk about NFL, but today's post isn't about Football but rather the BEST of NHL players, coming back to the game, after 10 months of absence from suffering the Concussion! Sidney Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins' Captain suffered the concussion, and was absent from the game til yesterday, Nov.21, 2011. (against Islander's game). He came back last night, and played HAPPILY, and GREAT as he used to play!! I didn't have the access to the full game but watched the highlights, interviews, and other video clips from this game, and he looked so happy, as We All Penguins' Fans were!! I always feel so sorry who suffers from any kind of injuries from any kind of games. But this one hit hard, because not only Penguins is MY TEAM but also he is the best of best (active) NHL players, and yesterday's comeback drew the attention, not only nationally but internationally also. Yes, he is the best of best Ice Hockey players, and the World knows about him! So, I just wanted to post this, because I was very happy too. He scored 2 goals, had 2 assists and we won 5-0 over NY Islanders! :-)
I never cared for NHL til 3 years ago, when "someone" (wink wink!! ;-) ) took me to the game in Pittsburgh. And that year, Penguins won Stanley Cup (like winning Super Bowl for NFL, in case you aren't familiar with Ice Hockey). I was there in Pittsburgh, when they had a Victory parade in downtown. After that year, Winter Olympics took place, and watched Ice Hockey. I wanted US to win but Canada took the Gold medal, and Sidney Crosby was the best player there, too, from Canada. Then, earlier this year, Winter classics also took place in Pittsburgh, where Sidney Crosby got first hard hit which also caused his concussion and had to leave the rest of the season & this season til yesterday.
Anyways, thank you very much for stopping by today, and I'm sorry that this wasn't the post with my card but wanted to share my happiness from last night! Have a great day~~ :-)

Enjoy the Ride!

This weeks' challenge at Simon Says Challenge is this Sketch. This is the card I made, and I'm very happy that I finally could use this stamp from Lawn Fawn!! :-), with new echo park's summer days papers, too! I used hero art's Clouds stamp to make one of the backgrond papers, stamping it with chalk ink. I used my new addition; label steel die from memory box for the sentiment. I luv this steel die! I punched clouds out from glitter papers which I embossed with swiss dots. I stamped the old CTMH sun, used sakura glaze pen to give a subtle glazy look over it, trimmed, and attached it. I adhered the shiney circle sticker on the button, and attached it on the center of the Ferriswheel. Isn't this a cheerful card?? :-) Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Have a great day!

Strawberry Yummy Tilda

When I saw this Tilda stamp, I had to have it :-) I luv anything, anybody, with Berry image stamps, and I mean, all kind of berries :-) I made this card for Just Magnolia week111 "paper piecing to dress" challenge. I luv Paper piecing! And I found this strawberry paper from my stash. :-) When I thought of the design, I saw this sketch at Magnolia mania #13 "ribbon and sketch" challenge. So I made this card to submit to these 2 challenge. I think everything is pretty much self-explanatory :-) I did put glitters on the lace of her sleeves, which is hard to see on the picture, as well as the shining on strawberries and tilda's boots, to make them look a bit real, using sakura clear glaze pen. Thank you for visiting my blog today! I appreciate your time & comments :-)

EVE - 9898

I went to TARGET yesterday, and i saw the car with license plate of "EVE-9898"!!! I usually carry a camera wherever i go, in my purse, in case i run into something Interesting and can take a pic. of. Anyways, today, for some reason, i thought of bringing a camera. but i knew i was only going to Target for a few things, and decided to leave my camera... well, i was wrong! I saw this car, and i was very dissappointed that i didn't have a camera. Anyways, About 2 hrs later, i had to drive to downtown, i saw this license plate, waiting for the green light to go to the left, in the left lane!! and i stopped for the red light to go straight!! I thought, "WOW"!!! and this time, i had a camera with me, and while we both were waiting for the green light, i took my camera out from the purse, but then light for them changed to green, and this is the QUICK shot i took from the car.!! as it was meant for me to take a pic. of !! How often do you run into the same car on the main road, and, it is like 15 mins. away from the place i first spotted, 2 hrs later! Since i'm uploading this pic., i thought of another pic. from a couple of weeks ago. I parked in front of the bank, where there are a couple of spots, which is parallel to the bank's front, and this lady parked right in front of me, almost the same time. And i saw "4EVER-WVU"!! That time i had a camera with me, and i took this pic. (i graduated from WVU). Anyways, these are the pics. I though those were funny, esp. to me!

Copic Certification - general info.

Today's fact finding : When i get Curious, i have to ask & find out. Curiousity might kill the cat someday...lol Anyways, for some reason, i got curious about copic certification, whether it's been offered in Japan where the Copic are manufactured, or not. And if they do, how much, etc. I just found out that only in US, Europe & Australia, you can get certified. The reason, according to the general manager of the maker of Copic markers is because Scrapbooking/Rubber stamping isn't as popular as it is in those countries mentioned. Copic here is very big now but apparently, not in Japan where its HQ is.

Le Whif - inhalable chocolate and coffee

http://www.lewhif.com/ ok, hats off to the professor of Harvard University, to invent this, and will launch its products in cities nationwide and abroad, including London and Tokyo. People in Tokyo loves anything NEW & Different, so i have a feeling it will be a hit for a while. Although I still would love to BITE, LICK, and enjoy the melting part of chocolate in my mouth, i thought of the pros (for me), cuz i first thought this was weired. Anyways, pros are 1. good for the teeth, no need to brush your teeth after eating, less cavities 2. For Coffee flavor, similar pros; Not coloring the teeth. As you all know, Tea & Coffee (and red wine, too if you drink on daily bases) would stain your teeth after many years of drinking. I do get crave for chocolate sometimes but my worries isn't the calories but the cavities. So I might try to see whether i can get the same "FEELING" inhaling than actual eating.

I learned something else about February in Pittsburgh, and No Wonder...

i've been in hibernation mode...only 55hrs of some sun!! which is like 4 1/2 days out of 28days! ... the average of high temp. in this february was 33F instead of the average is 39F. And 22 days of Trace of Snow...again, February only had 28days...:-(

February in Pittsburgh

Finally horrible February is over...although, it's snowing outside today, on March 1...we got 48.7" of snow in this February which is the snowiest month on the record. The previous snowiest month it recorded here was in January, 1978, which was 40.2"! That was when Global Warming wasn't talked much... Between February 5~6 alone, we got 21.1"! By the end of February, we are #3 in the SNOWIEST WINTER record... #1 is the year 1950... back then, everybody got more snow everywhere (i remember when i was a child...definitely more snow). I just want snow to STOP!!!

JapaDog on Weather Channel

http://www.weather.com/outlook/videos/todays-top-forecast-4276#16600 I finally found the video clip which i missed when it was aired on weather channel, which is my TV DEFAULT! lol! I love hotdog & i like Japanese food, so maybe i'll try to make it in my own version BUT i'm sure i can't imitate the sauce since i've never had one! Apparently everybody around the world enjoyed it who went to see the Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Here is the video clip!

February 27, 2010 3:34AM (local time, 1:34AM ET) One of the deadliest earthquake (the magnitude-8.8) hit Central Chile

If you want to know more about TSUNAMI, this is the great explanation how it occurs, on weather.com http://www.weather.com/outlook/weather-news/news/articles/tsunami-article_2010-02-27 TSUNAMI is a Japanese word, being adapted in US, like KARAOKE. I’ve experienced many earthquakes in my life but the biggest is 7.1 when I was living in Guam (April 26, 2002) I remember that I held my desk top computer so it wouldn’t fall from the computer desk, praying for the jolt would stop soon. We lost telephone communication (landline) for a couple of days, islandwide power outage & water pipes were cut. No death toll though! Guam gets a couple of earthquakes (3.8 ~ 4.6) per year, which I felt. Not bad. How severe it gets depends on how often they get the earthquakes, so the building code is strict, etc, from their experiences, and how long that earthquake lasts. Longer it lasts, as you can imagine, it causes more damages. This reminded me of Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995 in Japan. Japan gets many earthquakes all the time, but most of them are small. But THAT earthquake’s death toll was over 6,400! I remember the death toll rose because of, not directly from the earthquake hit but they were consumed by Fire after they got trapped under rubbles. It occurred at 5:46AM when locals had started to prepare for breakfast, and most in Japan uses Gas stove. Also most Japanese houses are made of wood, and especially that area, those wooden houses are very old. The earthquake caused so much fire and I remember people were praying for more people to be rescued from under the rubbles BEFORE the fire got to them. Also each houses were built very close in that area, and Fire Engines couldn’t get through in those small alleys. That caused the delay in extinguishing fire. But after that devastation, their city’s building code got more strict. Most people here in east coast have never experienced the earthquakes, I hear, but you would feel helpless when the ground shakes! I’ve went through the Super typhoon, over 220m/h gust wind (lasted 12 hrs!, and that was very tiring…) but for typhoons & hurricanes, you can prepare some, but Earthquake hits without any warnings, anytime! That’s really scary…I’m also glad Tsunami didn’t hit hard in Hawaii, Japan, Guam and other places in the Pacific.

Icicles...

This winter has been horrible...this month already became the snowiest february ever, and it might become the snowiest winter ever, beating the 1950-51 record. The average snow falls of Pittsburgh is 38.80", and we already have 68.something, and the winter is far from over... anyways, all houses have so many LONG icicles!! I've seen the one which is almost touching the ground from the second floor roof. First 4 pics. are taken in 3 days. The neighbor has a couple of icicles, which already passed the first floor roof. Can you see them, in 5th pic.??

Perfect Pearls on House Mouse Stamp Images

A HM club member asked me how i use perfect pearls on my HM image. We can do lots of things with PP but from the top of my head, right now, i colored CONFETTI which you find lots in HM stamp images, very recently, with PP. You put some PP into the pallet, and add a tiny drop of water, & mix. You can use it, like acrylic paintings. Also i recently used "Perfect Sparkle" which is one of my most fav. color in PP, as STEAM from the drinks, and water from shower. You can find steam & water in HM stamps a lot. The stamped image shows "----", so i use perfect pearls medium PEN (not the inkpad), to write over those "----", and put that color & dust with the brush. It shows that you did something BUT not too much, cuz they are steam & water, it should not pop up in the image, anyway. But i always get the compliment, doing that. I just love subtle simmering on my card/image. And PP does that, in my opinion, and on HM stamp, it gives the Sweet look! What do you think??

New Findings!

I was always wondering WHAT THAT metal gadget was for, the one which i've seen at nearby craft store, but never stopped to take a look at the package closely to read. It looks like the metal gadget i have, to make an extra hole on my leather belts. Anyways, today, i found out what it was...it's called, "itop Tool" from imaginisce. And now i learned how to use, and now i want it! lol Make it short, it's a BRAD maker. I can make the customized brads, from small to large! This is now in my wish list! You can click this website for it's video clip (by Mr. Tim Holtz). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6UXuH946Gk
