~ it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ~~

yes, it is :-) The other day, I went to Home Depot (in Guam). People were loading Fresh Christmas Trees up to their SUVs, like this card! :-) Except there is no snow here on the Tropical Island :-) Anyways, I made this card to my old time online friend whom I recently reconnected once again. She loves cats, like I do, and I had this stamp for ages but never inked it before! ha! yes, I was ONCE a COLLECTOR, like many stampers from old time were (or still are! lol!). I'm also submitting this card to the challenge at the Paper Variety where they are having the theme of "Christmas lyrics" :-) yes, I'm singing, like these peanuts! lol :-)Lots of Old stamps have black images on the back of the stamps, not colored, and in a way, it's good because you can color anyways you want, and I chose RED for this car, because I have a RED car which I love, and missed a lot! :-) I distressed the edge of the main image panel. Then I used Sakura Souffle pen/white to make snow, lots of snow, ... like Snow Storm! lol :-) Although the picture doesn't show, the layering blue paper underneath has simmer in it. I distressed a bit of plain but DP, with Snowflake stamping in the same distress ink. For the sentiment, I first stamped music notes in versa mark, but it doesn't show much, esp. in the photo but it's there! :-) I wrote a Christmas lyrics on it, and used Sakura Souffle pen again, to make MORE snow! :) Yes, this card has lots of snow on it, because although the recipient of this card lives in NV, she loves SNOW! (I can't believe that fact! lol!) So I'm sending her lots of snow on this card! :-) On mom cat's coat (cuffs), baby cat's hat, and big brother cat's hat have flock on them, to show the fuzz! :-) I also used silver mica powder to paint (mixing with water) for the rims of the tires, but it doesn't show on the picture much either. ..

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today. I appreciate your comments! Have a nice evening~~ :-)

Happy Belated Birthday!

My online friend, whom I've just met In Person told me that her birthday was like 2 weeks ago, so I decided to make a "belated birthday'" card. I used the sketch at Scrap-Creations , for this week's challenge. I love this sketch! It's cute! :-) I colored the cat & mouse, cut them and attached to the base, with pop up glue dots, to give a bit of dimention. I used Glossy Accent for the glass jar. I also used pop up glue dots for the main image, to attatch to the base CS. I used scallop circle nestie die and embossed with cuttlebug folder. I used fiskar's stamp for the corner, in white, then heat embossed it. I love this image! :-)
Thank you for visiting my blog today. I appreciate your time and comments! :-)

"Clean & Simple"!

That's the challenge at Penny Black Sat. Challenge blog this week. Here is my card. I LUV this PB cats' image, esp. for spring card! I luv this sentiment from Lawn Fawn too :-) Since it's "Clean & Simple", I didn't do too much, other than coloring the image, put a bit of glitter on butterflies, corner heart punches, placing tiny white pearls in them, baker's twine, nestie die, and distressing around the sentiment.

WMC43

What a nice Challenge this week at Wee Memories; "live, laugh, love"! I can make cards for this theme all year around!! :-) But well, this is my latest creation :-) I've been wanting to use this image & red heart doily! I placed tiny pearls in each small hearts on the border. White background paper (with "love" writings) & circle layering red heart paper is Bo Bunny which my HM online friend Sue K. sent me (Thank You, Sue!:-)) I used red glitter pen to draw "stitches" around the cats image & sentiment. I'm sending this to my godmother for Belated Valentine's day! lol... I did send e-valentine's day card but she is always looking forward to my Handmade card, so I'm sending this tomorrow :-)

Penny Black Sat. Challenge wk123

This week's challenge is the sketch. I have this stamp for a long time, but still luv it! I used Glossy Accent, Stickles/baby blue & bubble stickers all over on this card, from bubble images to the center of flower eyelets! I attached the 2nd image of the mouse in the his bathtub, with dimentional glue.

This is the way to Celebrate! lol!

Simon Says...

3 Types of Embellishments, 2 Patterned papers (and a plain color for layering) and 1 Image for this week's challenge. The image is Penny Black. The spider web is the corner punch from MS. It is designed to use it OUTWARD from the center of the card, but i trimmed it after punching the paper out, attached them on the corners with dimentional glue dots. Two black small round things are gems, but a bit hard to tell. Also the main image & the sentiment are attached with the dimentional glue dots.

PB Sat. Challenge wk122

The challenge is to use more than 2 Penny Black stamps. Just like last week, i only have a couple of hours left til it closes its challenge, but i made it somehow, to upload my card...hyuuu... The cat image & Bats images are from Penny Black. The trees/forest are... from SU! but it wasn't really a Forest/tree stamps.... Since i didn't have those stamps in hand, i CREATED these trees, using a leaf stamp from old SU!'s stamp set! lol! If i didn't reveal this secret, i don't think anybody could tell that, right??! lol! I think they turned out to be a Good Looking Forest image! lol! I used the glossy accent on the pumpkin face balloon :-)

Simon says... HALLOWEEN challenge!

Again, time flew... Although i finished this card two days ago, i just didn't have a time to take & upload the pic. on my blog.... anyways, i have 7 more hrs til Blinkie will close so i'm fine now :-) I had this black paper from core essentials collection, the purle color underneath, which i sanded, from a month ago, kept it in my scrap. Since i wanted Purple/Black color coordination on this Cat Vampire card, i decided to use this CS. In fact, i embossed the front side of two folded CS, directly. Except the stars & haunted mansion, all images were heat embossed. Those two were stamped with dye ink, to look they are in far distance. I cut 1/4 of circle and used that as a mask, to sponge three different colors of inks on the main white CS. Then i colored the moon with the marker. It seems like every year, i use those Ghost buttons on one of my Halloween cards! I like those :-) The sentiment on the nestie was attached, on pop up glue dots, to give a bit of dimention.

PB Sat. Challenge wk121

"Don't Be Square"... that's the challenge at the blog. Time flies, and when i came up with some idea, making this card, with the NEW stamp i just aquired yesterday, i only had 9 hrs til they closed the challenge... in THAT 9 hrs, i had to Take a shower, Meeting friends for lunch, and Going to Grocery shopping.. anyways, now there are 2 hrs left to submit my card! hyuu... i made it...:-) Out of PB's clear stamp set, i thought i could use this stamp for FALL card, Not necessary for Halloween. I'll be making Halloween cards this weekend, using other stamps in a set, when i'll have more time...lol.

Penny black Sat. Challenge wk119

This week's challenge is the sketch you see here. I could add MORE of everything on this card, but i TRIED to follow the sketch as close as possible...lol... i used the gel pen to give the shimmer on the ribbon for the gift box. Unfortunately the pic. doesn't show it well...Sentiment & main image were adhered with 3D glue dots, to give both more dimention. i luv PB's cat... it always give me a smile :-)

Penny Black Sat. Challenge wk118

This week's theme is MEN/BOYS. I hardly make this kind of cards, but when i saw this stripe paper about a month ago, i thought this would be great for boys card so i bought it, even i didn't plan to use it anytime soon. And here it is. I could use it for this card for this theme at PB challenge! :-) I used Souffle pen from Sakura for those white tiny dots by the party hats. I didn't mean to buy this pen but when i was looking for another kind of pen, the store clerk introduced me, and i tried it in the store, and i liked it, so i bought it. I haven't used it often but i like how it looks when it dries, very much. It's like gel pen (opaque) but has more Clear Plastic look to it, giving a FUN look! :-) Hope i can use this pen more often! :-) i used glitter glue (sparkle) on the top of the party hats, and used baby blue glitter glue on the lines on party hats. Main image is attached with pop up glue dots.

Penny Black Sat.Challenge wk111

This week's theme is "Christmas in July". I CROPPED this cat wearing a santa's hat image from the stamp of 3 cats. I stamped Music randomly to make a background paper, to match the christmas song on the bottom. I FRAMED, using redtapes to adhere the red glitter. ... this is my FIRST christmas card to make this year, and i wasn't really up to it... i just don't wanna think of christmas right now, while ENJOYING beautiful hot summer days!! ... but it seems all challenge call for "Christmas in July" this month... I luv making "beach" card all year long! LOL :-)

PB old card, from 2004, too!

Since i was looking for the cards in my previous posts, i went through the old cards, and i found this. We were talking about "cropping" yesterday in one of the yahoo club i belong to, and i decided to upload this OLd card again! this PB stamp is actually for Winter scene (it's a snowball fight!) but me living in a tropical island back then, of course, i had to make the scene to the beach, with sandballs fight! :-) yes, my life had been "life is a beach!" LOL

Being Published back in 2004! Old cards! :-)

today, one of my yahoo club friend asked whether anybody has ever been published in the magazines. I had 3 cards in total, being published, but oh boy, those cards are rather simple compared with the cards in recent years! For the card with ship, i even got a phone call for the interview, like where i live, how long i've been stamping, where i get the inspiration from, etc. There was the interview details in the magazine beside the card. For the second card with fish ("under the sea" theme), i got the e-mail of "interview" (Q&A), and also some introduction about me, but shorter, and the 3rd card with the cat was published just in the READER's submissions page, without any comments, only my name. (NOT the shaker card one). Back then, lots of TECHNIQUES were introduced, and for the first card & the 3rd cards, i used Posh impressions' rainbow sponging. For the 2nd card, i used polished stone technique. I was living in Guam (US territory), the tropical island, tourist destination & the land of US Navy, all three cards were made from the inspiration, just me living there. no, cats don't fly there!! LOL but in rainy season, we get squalls every day, and we can see rainbows so often!! The colors of the ocean sometimes becomes the one with the polished stone technique. Water is clear & beautiful colored fish are all around! And the ship... not only Cruise ship sometimes stop by there but BIG NAVY ships stop by also. Anyways, i was inspired by the nature & life all around me, living in Guam :-), and that's how i answered to those interviews :-) They were all published in Scrap & Stamp Art Magazines by Scott Publications. I was getting excited but then the life took a turn to bad... and i had to stop stamping...

PB Birthday card/March #1

i really wish my camera takes a great pic., esp. the colors, cuz this birthday card turned out to be very bright & cheerful with beautiful hues of yellow shades but it doesn't show it well... anyways, the stamp is from Penny Black. I used my fav. Blending block inkpad (shades of yellow) for background flower stamping. I also colored the ribbon with perfect pearls.
